Ours is a Lilac Point Siamese we got from rescue. Her name is Snowflake because she was still pure white when we got her, although she's taken on a more adult Siamese look after 4 years.

Siamese are cool, but I always have a tough time with expensive cats, since kittens are always available cheap otherwise. Rescue is different of course. The ones I don't get are Persians, they look messed up to me. I am curious about English kittens and Bengals though, but am probably too much of a dog person to have only a cat.

Our two cats are well-behaved and always use their cat boxes. The giant dog shits all over outside, and often has diarrhea, sometimes inside in the middle of the night. Right now the GF is cleaning up HER dog's huge pile of dog vomit. We feed the cats on the counter because otherwise the dog would eat all their food.

And you have to walk a dog, even when it's pouring rain. Cats for me.

We have a parrot and a cat and while they're certainly pains in the asses they're also a joy to have around. We don't clip the bird so he's a terrorist around the house.

The cat's been with us for 17 years and is beginning to take a turn. When he's gone I do not believe we'll get another.
