He was actually just a little but before "my time" as an IndyCar fan, but I've heard plenty about his exploits, & I've seen his cars in the IMS Museum countless times.

Sad to hear one of the true innovators of auto racing has passed away. Granatelli was one of my favorites because he sponsored two of the most iconic race car drivers in auto sports history: That being Mario Andretti and Richard Petty. I watched many of the races he was involved in way before it was fashionable and those days are indeed gone forever.

He had a gorgeous house less than a 1/4 mile on the same mountain road from some friends of mine in Montecito (Santa Barbara)....I actually met him back in the 80's when I lived down there...very nice guy.
