Well, since I'm the only one responding in here - I will pose a question. If I place someone at a position that he didn't play a lot (less than 100 G), but it is generally considered a low defensive priority position, would that be allowed, or would everyone crucify me for it?

Starting guys out of position usually doesn't go over well. I don't believe we have the restrictions on % of games played like we used to. But if a guy played over a decade without playing 100 games at a position, I wouldn't recommend starting him there.

I would normally agree, but it's first base, and his offensive production would offset his lack of playing time in the field.... My current line up is set up without it, just thinking of sacrificing a little defense at first for some pop with the bat.

You talking Stan Hack at 1st?

Imo Olerud is important to your lineup for being a lefty as much as him being a first baseman.

Actually, looking for putting Medwick at first. It's a real stretch (19 games), but it allows me to start Medwick, Belle, Puckett, Clemente and Wilson instead of benching one. It's a very small amount of games, but first base is by far the easiest position to play. I'd put another one of them there, but luck would have it, none of the others even played 1 game. Hack's playing third and batting lead off.

As for the Lefty - I looked at splits for everybodies team all draft (up until I go sick) and noticed that RHB splits are not nearly as affected by RHP as one may think. I guess the fact that they see them 2/3 of the time makes it just normal. It's not the same issue you have with LHB vs. LHPs. So, having a mostly RH lineup is not the disadvantage against RHP as having a mostly LH lineup is against lefties, and each of my top RHB have great splits vs. RHP.

I am most likely going to keep my line up the way I have it, I just have to decide if I bench the triple crown winner, or the single season RBI record holder.

I'm a little more good than others in this department... I'm starting Arky at 3rd, although he has 197 and a 2x Allstar there... I've suggested starting a Center Fielder play RF or LF where he played a handful of games and it didn't go over too well... From my limited knowledge, baseball appears to be the easiest sport to change positions but that's just me...

Medwick is 5'10... If you want to play someone out of position at least use someone tall... 1B, short players are such a disadvantage since they have smaller reach, which makes just too much of a need for perfect throws by the rest of the infield... It is kind of like how catchers make pitchers better, 1B can make other positions better... But you are certainly making them much worse IMO...
