I like Trey McBride but he is little overrated by Bronco fans due to being a local college kid. Is he good? Sure, but does he make sense for us? His upside isn't amazing and Russell Wilson probably uses his TE as little as any QB in the NFL. I don't really expect us to take a look at TE until day 3. If I take a TE in the first two rounds I want one I am confident can be one of the better TE's in the NFL. I just don't see that with McBride.

I bet you’d feel different if he was from Iowa ;)

Well, he would be better coached. ;)

Honestly, there are a lot of Iowa prospects I have not been high on. I just can't think of them right now. ;)

looking at 2023 , assuming a new contract for Wilson , Darby to me looks like a guy that would be gone and save $10M

a CB in a trade up from 64 makes the most sense to me and would be my #1 draft strategy

Cleveland screwed the entire NFL guaranteeing Watson $54M a year

I think we will see some salary dumps for sure.

The Broncos appear to be thinnest at CB - yet hitting on a CB in the draft pays solid salary cap dividends. I'd say one of the CBs will be at likely pick at 64 or earlier.

I suspect Watson has some contract clauses involving moral turpitude that could void the deal. The deal does make me mad on a lot of levels. The NFL is complicit with these contracts because they sell higher value commercial costs.

Given the money Chubb will command after a good year, I'd hope if we move around its for edge players.

I actually don't think Denver is thin at CB... The one thought I have is what CEH brought up... Darby played pretty well last year but will we pay him a 3rd year at 10 m? Seems unlikely.

I think people have forgotten about Ojemudia in the CB rotation for the Broncos and he will quickly change people's minds who haven't factored him into the equation.

My mindset for a CB early isn't because we are thin now but more so because we could be thin in a year.

Another one of my favorite DB's in this draft that can be had in the later rounds.

I would not be sad if we drafted 2 edge, 2 CBs, an OT, TE, RB, a WR and/or a C or some combination there of. I think the DLine might a place to look as well, especially NT.

I don’t know that I see us trading up from 64, but trading down at some point of the draft to acquire additional draft capital in 2023. Have guys on rookie contracts will help offset Wilson’s contract, which will likely be in the 50 million per area. It is possible Wilson does something like Carr to structure his contact to allow for the team to acquire talent to keep the Broncos relevant and pushing for a playoff sport for years to come.

We currently have 9 picks, trading back a time or two could net us additional dart throws this year, but also increasing the 5 picks we have next year.

Any nominations of Denver Broncos who could be traded for picks - as the draft approaches or unfolds?

Cushenberry?
Strnad?
Seth Williams?
Muti?

Risner is on the last year of his rookie contract. Contract year for Chubb, too. Seems if they’re trying to move a player at this juncture it’s probably due to a scheme fit?
