Something tells me that had Wynn ranked higher than Evans. If they wanted Evans, then they fucked up. They knew that Tenn wanted one of LVE or Evans. The Pats could have easily out traded Tenn at that point. They didn't. Then you hear reports that they tried to get where Det was to take the C Ragnow.

A fairly typical Patriots draft. Some Oline players, a defensive player and a long shot pick. Expect a bushel of "guys" in the next rounds who may or may not pan out.

It's clear, BB does not like this draft class beyond the middle of the 2nd rd. We have like 3 3rd picks right now...

BB just bailed out of Round 4. Pats get the Lions 3rd round pick next year for He's made 3 picks and 6 trades.

In 2019 he has 1 first, 2 seconds, 1 third because they traded their own 3rd for Danny Shelton..

I’m bummed because they hyped Steve Grogan to announce the Patriots 4th round pick and we traded out. Grogan is my man! I wanted to see him damn it!

By the end we'll have about 10-15 picks for the 6th and 7th rounds.

Not including the 6th and 7th round picks we'll have for the 2019, 2020 and 2021 Drafts...

LB Ju'Waan Bentley Purdue 4.75 40 yd.

Had the most tackles on Purdue team in 2017.

1 Interception and 11 tackles for loss.

6'2" 254 lbs.

Sounds like special teams to start and some first and second down work against runs.

Link?????

My mistake. When it was announced at the NFL draft, they were talking about the Patriots trading their pick to the Lions for a third round pick next year. It came out the LB signed a one year deal with the Patriots. He actually signed a one year with the Detroit Lions.

6th Round

Christian Sam LB Ariz.

6'2" 245

Strengths
  • Broad chest with tapered waist and well-defined limbs
  • Fluid and twitched up
  • Finds solo stops and isn't a herd tackler
  • Explosive striker and plays with good aggression
  • Plays with knee bend and slide quickness in his scrapes
  • Plus change of direction
  • Plays with square pads as tackler
  • Downhill worker
  • Quick shoulder turn to slip blocks
  • Good peripheral vision and instincts
  • Usually where he's supposed to be
  • Three-down backer who can cover
  • Former staff considered playing him at cornerback before he got too big
  • Has ability to carry tight ends around the field and can match running backs out of their breaks
Weaknesses
  • Play speed doesn't always match timed speed
  • Scouts say he's not the alpha leader in the locker room and doesn't love to practice
  • Will need to become more effective taking on blocks with hands instead of shoulders
  • Still learning to digest blocking schemes
  • Gets out of position when he starts guessing
  • Can run himself out of plays by running under blocks
  • Reads runner's initial steps at times rather than sticking with his keys

A little bit about Izzo the TE from Florida St. He's 6'5" 250 lbs. Was a four year starter and improved every year. Didn't catch a lot of passes, but FFU doesn't throw much to the TE. Izzo is an excellent blocker.

Tight end Ryan Izzo has joined the ranks of former Seminoles taken in the NFL Draft with his seventh-round selection by the New England Patriots with the 250th pick of this year's draft.

Izzo -- a three-year starter at tight end for the Seminoles -- is the first FSU tight end drafted since the player he succeeded, Nick O'Leary in 2014.

Izzo was FSU's fifth drafted player this year, the most in a single draft since 11 Seminoles were taken in the 2015 NFL Draft.

Izzo's production grew with each passing season in Tallahassee. After recording 210 receiving yards on 14 catches with two touchdowns in 2015, he had 227 receiving yards on 19 catches as a sophomore in 2016.

Izzo's best year came in 2017, when he had career-highs in receiving yards (306) and touchdowns (3).

Although Izzo has shown some capability as a receiving target, what makes him most draftable is his blocking ability.

Izzo's NFL Scouting Combine performance was middling in most drills, but he is regarded as one of the better blocking tight ends in this year's draft class.

Izzo is the 11th Seminole drafted by the New England Patriots, the first since guard Tre Jackson in 2015.
