Kemp to the Red Sox now being discussed as I mentioned a couple weeks ago. What I didn't see was a trade of Lester for Kemp which seems nuts to me. Then again the Sox have battered the Dodgers so badly in previous deals maybe it's their turn to get robbed. I don't believe the story I read last nite about Lester for Kemp but I do believe the Sox are going after him.

It is just a rumor... LA would eat most of Kemp's contract - and they'd have to include Joc Pederson.

But, if they included Pederson, the Sox wouldn't need Kemp....

In other words... Nothing is happening...

I think Koji Uehara and Andrew Miller will be dealt by Boston...

Uehara - 47.2 IP - 0.76 WHIP - 30 H - 63 SO - 6 BB

Miller - 40.1 IP - 0.94 WHIP - 25 H - 65 SO - 13 BB

Dodgers aren't trading Pederson so you're correct.

uggghhhh. I want no part of the Kemp contract. Honestly, he should strictly be DHing (his defense is horrible). And even then, the Sox still have Ortiz.

I would keep Miller, but if they can get a good enough return, why not?

I won't disagree except to remind you of this : the names are being talked about openly and that is 90% of doing it. Once teams start throwing names around and everyone knows about it then it gets to the point where they almost have to move the guy. A lot can happen in the next 3 days and a lot will happen. Stay tuned

I have zero interest in gutting the farm for Tulo. The only player that is "available" that I'd include a significant package of prospects for is Stanton. Tulo is a hell of a player but his away stat line just doesn't scream "that's the guy to put us over the top".

And I guess it comes with the position but one of the main reasons I was ok with letting Reyes walk was because he was constantly hurt. You'd get 3 weeks of the best player in baseball followed by a month on the DL. I need more consistency if we're giving away what we've been so patient in gathering for the past 4 years.

I'd like to see Koji back in an O's uniform but seriously doubt Boston would deal him within the division.

I seriously doubt the O's are going to make any big moves. It seems like the same story over and over again: when we ask about someone, the other teams always want the guys that DD doesn't want to move.

I agree with your point about not wanting to gut the system. My take is I don't think anyone will have to. I believe Tulo can be had and for less than we may have thought. What I don't agree with is Reyes. The difference here is Tulo gives a damn about wining and Reyes never did and never will. The guy is a bum and will be remembered as one. David Wright NEEDS someone in that lineup who's a proven talent and a guy who cares about what they're doing. Tulo would be a good fit I think and would take a lot of pressure of Wright.

..... which leads us to Jon Lester who is as good as gone. The talks grow louder and the Sox seem to realize they are not gonna resign him becuz he ain't gonna let it happen. David Price is going nowhere so the arm to watch is Lester.

Pirates in the market for Lester, talks centering on Josh Bell.

I just heard an uniformed person say that Boston will trade Lester for a top prospect (like Bell) - then go all in to re-sign him as a free agent.

Sounds crazy.

...or does it?
