I guess nobody is predicting a sweep over the hated Oakland A's?

I thought Beimel was a good signing and he pulled his best Hanson/Saunders. STUNK IT UP!

Based on what he did last year I did too. So much for that.

It wasn't just the fact we have no left handers coming out of the pen but I thought Edwards pitched very well in ST and should have been on the roster. He seemed to have good velocity and movement on his pitches to go along with positive results.

Yeah, I think you're right.

But I think who opens the season isn't as imperative as it has been in years past. I suspect we're going to shuffle these guys back and forth from AAA/AA to Arlington on a regular basis.

I see we "designated" Sam Freeman. Does this mean we owe the Cards 10 lbs of brisket or what?

How is that an awfully big assumption? He thought he had the lefties and he doesn't. Otherwise we wouldn't be without one in our pen.

That's not necessarily true. For all you know, jd has been working tirelessly behind the scenes to acquire a quality lefty and just came up empty. Neither you or I have any idea how this has transpired.

Our first game is approximately 36 hours from now. So this afternoon, if no one has dibs or objections, I'm gonna start a new thread for opening the season.

Glad to see this thread go by the wayside. the team had a lackluster offseason / spring training.

Now for some real baseball, I'll be watching the Cubs and Cards tonight, while I wait for the Rangers game tomorrow.

Good to see the thread was active on the Easter weekend.

The Friday night game certainly wasn't the greatest to watch live, but live baseball is still the greatest thing ever. The bats just failed to show up. Did not sample any of the new offerings... going to Cancun this Novemeber so I'm trying to get rid of all the previous ballpark food I'm still carrying around. They had a new in-game bit where they played the dance contest scene from "Pulp Fiction" on the jumbotron and were wanting kids to emulate it... it was a bit awkward.

Looking forward to the 2015 getting started, come what may. Bring on the new thread and inevitable arguments.

Arguments here? Surely you jest. You did mean, discussions and debates didn't ya?

Yeah, going to the game brings the kid out in a lot of us. Glad you enjoyed it, in-spite of the obvious in-game action; lack thereof.

OK.....shortly I'm gonna kick off the "new-thread, new-season" thread.

Go Rangers.

Which is part of what I said in my original statement.

That's actually not true.

Maybe JD should have addressed this instead of thinking Kirkman or Claudio could do the job. Just saying...

I'd say he's been trying. Sure doesn't seem like his available options have been that great.

I'm sure he is now. How long have we all known that Kirkman is a mental midget? JD very well could've been trying the whole off-season. I don't know. It just seems he thought he had the lefties and has realized recently that he was wrong.

Which I've already said:

"I'm sure he is now. How long have we all known that Kirkman is a mental midget? JD very well could've been trying the whole off-season. I don't know. It just seems he thought he had the lefties and has realized recently that he was wrong."

None of the moves he's made have panned out, and I see that as a problem. Otherwise we wouldn't be the only bullpen without one.
