This is kind of like last season where I could see us doing well or completely fucking it up.

I had to go with 8, not sure why, just a gut feeling, completely agree with you Herky on this though; I have always maintained that Iowa should win 9 or more every year as the standard, but after last year if they win 8 I will be happy.

I just do not think we should lose to anyone but UM, OSU, NE and sometimes PSU, the rest we should beat year in and year out. I hate losing to ISU and feel that is a useless game to even play cause if we lose then it's embarrassing while if we win, we should have won. I also hate Northwestern with a passion, losing to them always pisses me off.

5-7, we will be fortunate to get there. Only 1 real easy OOC win is Mizzou State, could lose the other 2 although I HOPE we make it to 3-1. After that we may literally be underdogs in every game the rest of the year

There isn't a single Big Ten game that we'd be favored in..maaaaaybe @ MN and maaaaaaybe vs. Purdue, but they'd even be close. Going to be another tough schedule this year. I'm of the mindset that 6 wins or above is a success, anything less than that and I think the Fire Ferentz talk starts up.....again.

ok ok, yeah it is hard to even know what we have, just hoping it is a Brad Banks type of year (except for that Orange Bowl game) and not a Jake Christensen type of year or even Randy Reiners (1999 season QB as I recall)

I said 4-8. I think Iowa goes 2-2 in the OOC and 2-6 on the B1G. After watching the spring game, this team has a long way to go. I still see a lot of short routes in the offensive playbook. The running game looked off. And, if Iowa's offense moved the ball - and it isn't really a quality offense yet - against Iowa's defense...we will be in for a long season. And I agree with Clemenza here, the Fire KF stove gets turned up.

The only for sure loss on this schedule is at the horseshoe. I don't see any reason for Iowa to win less than 8 games.

I'm surprised some of the new message board posters haven't jumped on you for your post. Some of these new posters do not tolerate ANY negativity in making predictions. Especially those that see a really bad record on the season.

While I am hopeful for a great season (9+ wins), I too see this being a horrible season.

While I am hopeful for a great season (9+ wins), I too see this being a horrible season.

I love the Hawks and always hope for the best. But like I said, it resembles last year in that we can have a decent year or completely fall apart. FTR, I went with 8 wins. I think we sneak up on some people this year.

6-6 would be a huge failure! If we go 6-6 I will jump on the fire Ferentz wagon. Outside of Ohio State, Michigan and possibly Wisconsin, the B1G is horrible and our non conference schedule is a complete joke. To only win 6 games would be reason to go another direction.

Dude WE are horrible. We won 4 games last year and LOST most of our best players off of that team. 6-6 this year would be one of Ferentzs best coaching jobs. Our OOC schedule sucks??? Well we will be underdogs in 2 maybe 3 of those games ( NIU and ISU for sure, maybe WMU). There may be 1 or 2 B10 games we are favored in but probably not. This team could legit go 2-10.

Don't forget, the Northern Illinois QB Lynch is back for his senior season. That will be a tough challenge for Iowa's defense to start the season.

You listed @Ohio St, Michigan, & Wisconsin as probable losses for Iowa this year. I'll add @Iowa St, & @Nebraska to your list. it is possible that Iowa has 5 losses in those games right their.

Missouri St, W. Michigan, @Minnesota, & @Purdue are all MUST WIN games this year. If Iowa wants to go to a bowl game this year.

Northern Illinois, Michigan St & Northwestern -- might have to flip a coin for luck before hand.

A 6-6 season would be a huge accomplishment for KF. I agree with you that the B1G will be down overall as a conference. If the prognosticators of college football continue to pick Iowa to finish last in the division, then Iowa must really be down as a program.
