As I said, Vlatko Cancar, they are definitely missing his dominating presence.
Lol, He wasn’t gonna make the difference

LMAO, ok you got me. You showed me an 8 minute video that I'm not gonna watch.

Dude again, if you think a fast break layup is the same as a wide open layup in the half court offense that's on you.

If you think todays defense is much better then back in the day that's also your deal. Seems others think the same way. I don't and I don't think it's even close. And I'm sure there are others out there who also think the way I do.

You can come back with another video, and then back to the Wolves.
Am I the only one picturing this as I read this post?

Wait what? What big players are out for Denver? And truth is the wolves are flat out dominating them regardless of any minor bumps or bruises on Denver.
Pretty sure he’s joking about Cancar.

Fouling someone on a wide open layup isn't basketball? Guess I can see where we disagree on defense then.

OK

Fouling someone on purpose isn’t good defense.

The level to which teams in the 90s took it is definitely not basketball.

Take a charge. Challenge the shot at the rim. That is defense.

He is playing but Murray clearly isn't 100% physically or mentally.

Lowest avg offensive points a game was 106 (Memphis) points a game, the highest avg points per game was 123 (Pacers).

Now that's some lock down D.

But they space it out and shoot 3's now. And they have some fast break layups.

You need to account for pace. Use per100 possession stats.

He was great in the dunk contests. Smooth power.
He was amazing in college too, once he got to where his athleticism couldn't carry him anymore his jumpshot was not good enough.

Mentally is a whole different deal. That’s part of the game. Physically I could understand but he seems to be playing at a solid speed banged up or not. It’s the playoffs.

Way more important than pace is just plain simple math.

2 x .47 = .94
3 x .35 = 1.05

Extrapolate that over a game where teams are taking 18 more 3’s a game and that alone is 10 points in a game more just by understanding math.

Old school people don’t want to admit it but 90’s basketball was played in a really, really stupid way.

Teams have leveled off over the last 5 years on how many 3’s they take. But the next big offensive revolution will probably involve them adding another 10 3’s a game. Which at that point will be a true 50/50 split from 2’s and 3’s.

Would also be interesting to see rebound rates from 2s vs 3s.

My guess is that teams get better offensive rebound rates off the 3s also.

I think the zone defense changes indirectly led to more 3s. We tend to sell that short. There was a time of adjustment to land where we ended up. Granted the Warriors excelling at that sped it up some.

Obviously a 3 is a more analytically sound shot..but again referring back to the 90s and defense the ability to Isolate your big offensively was enormous for teams who had good bigs. So you're going to lean on that more if you're those teams.

When the defensive rules changed to take a lot of that out...teams had to adapt eventually. Obviously the really low scoring in the early 2000s were part of that adaptation.
