i guess they thought those guys would be Green, KCP and Kuzma, but the thing is- the playoffs are a lot different then the regular season.

Kuz was inconsistent (as he has been all season). But, he did hit a couple of big shots late. Hopefully he can build some momentum off of that.

JR Smith was a guy that had some balls and could step up and take a big shot--- he could fuck up too- but i think he would make some shots.

I think they need to do the same thing with both him and Waiters. Put them out there for a few minutes and see what they have. If they hitting shots, leave them in. If not, get them back out quick.

Yes really, they played better than LA...maybe you just weren't watching the game. I never said Portland played well but you act like Portland shouldn't have won. They were leading the entire game and they still outplayed LA but both team didn't really play to their potential with LA playing pretty horrible overall.

Watched the entire game...were you watching?

The Blazers didn't play well, but as others have said, they played better than the Lakers.

The Blazers were 13/34 from 3. That's 38.2%. For the season they hit 37.7%. So, they basically hit their season average.

The Lakers were 5/32 from 3. That's 15.6%. For the season, they hit 34.9%. So they shot nearly 20% below their season average.

That's the difference in the game.

Oh, I won't dispute that the Blazers played less shitty than the Lakers. I am simply saying that didn't play well.

Also, the Lakers are missing key pieces. Using the Lakers bubble 3pt % is more appropriate than the season average.

Not really. The Lakers are only missing Avery Bradley and Rondo. Bradley hit slightly above the team average and Rondo slightly below. So it's kind of a wash.

Plus, the Lakers have shot 25.4% from 3 in the bubble. Last night they shot 15.6%. Had they shot their "bubble average", they would have 9 more points in a game they lost by 7.

From what I recall, there wasn't much left after the attempt to sign Kawhi finally fell through.

They have a lot of guys on 1 year deals who are older players. I expect they'll be looking to make some changes to the roster in the off season, regardless of how the season finishes.
Danny Green [40%(!?!?!?!)]
Alex Caruso (36%)
Jared Dudley (39%)
JR Smith (37%)

All are above average 3 point shooters for their careers. They have the 3 point shooting. They just need to actually hit the damn shots/play the guys that can hit them.

Give me Jared fucking Dudley one time. Dude might be old as sin, but he's gonna give you everything he's got. I'll take that (and his almost 40% 3 point shooting) around Lebron and AD.

And if the Blazers shot their normal FGA, they would have had 6 more points than they did in a game they already won by 7.

You simply can't win shooting 5/32. It's the Law of Harrison Barnes that was proven in the last 3 games of the 2016 Finals.

Yep. Like I said earlier, I don't expect the Lakers to win games off of their 3 point shooting.

But I expect better than 15%. :L

I need help understanding this weird season they put together. The Suns are undefeated in the bubble and the Lakers won only three games. Why are the Lakers moving on and the Suns kissing the playoffs goodbye? I don't get it.

i still believe the Lakers will win the series in 6 games---- but if some magical way the Blazers pull off the series win and LeBron has zero playoff series wins in LAL after 2 years and is going into his age 36 season, it will be very funny to me.

amirite?

And if the Lakers shot their regular season percentage of 35%...

So, I win. lol

I never said the Lakers didn't play shittier than the Blazers. Only that the Blazers didn't play well. If the Lakers play up to their potential, they'll win the series. Unfortunately, they've been dogshit in the bubble, and haven't shown any evidence of that changing in the playoffs.

The regular season is longer than 8 games.

So this group of games were just for fun or what? I guess I thought it was a shortened playoff race to see who is going to be in the playoffs. But it was just an extension of the regular season?

Good point, your comment was straight forward.
