This Sixers fan argument is if an NFL team was up 4 TDS in the playoffs with under 2 to go and you are mad at the opposing team/player because your coach decided to still air it out and a player is called for roughing the passer on your QB and he ends up getting injured.

Keep ignoring the fact that Doc is a bozo and fucked up by having Embiid in at that point

You can be frustrated and pissed about Embiid injury without making this a dirty play. Can also admit that Doc should have had Embiid on the bench as well. The guy was already dealing with a thumb injury so why have him in at that point?
You’re explaining away a man who got cucked coming in with elbows. It’s fine. It’s on brand for the Sixers hater. Just another reminder it’s Philly vs the world. This happens to Jokic and NBA Twitter taking this shit to the UN and convening another Geneva Convention.

Completely ass argument because no one knows the extent of injury at that point. I went immediately into draft and didn’t see interview of Embiid post game until last night. If I saw that eye then even it’s a different story. But congrats on your asterisk.

Extent of the injury shouldn't matter. A dirty play is bad if a player is injured or not. It isn't just bad when someone gets injured

Doc was the problem. I'm not going to rag on Siakam for something that wasn't intentional. Flagrant 1 happens frequently enough as you should know being a fan of Embiid but yeah you guys will continue to act like Siakam committed a crime....that play doesn't even meet Flagrant 2 criteria

None of us are saying he committed a crime. Several of us have said that we don't know if it was intentional or said straight up that they didn't think it was intentional. IMO, the biggest reason why I think it was at least intentionally reckless is because of the timing of the foul, which came right after Embiid's airplane antics.

I've seen far less called as a flagrant 2.

I am hopeful we see Embiid in this series, but game 3 sounds about right for realistically when it might happen at the earliest. I'm still kind of numb from absorbing this news to be honest. What a gut punch.

Asterisk my ass.

Does the sixers get an asterisk for their win over Toronto?

Barnes missed 3-4 games and FVV missed 2 games but let's ignore that.

Injuries happen everyday

If Harden is as great as Philly thought he was when they traded for him then him and Maxey should be good enough to pull a game out in Miami and give Philly the advantage for Embiid likely return in game 3

No it’s not. They blew leads all season. I am not second guessing a coach who left them in to close with confidence when they’ve struggled to do that all season and last year blew a 26 point 2nd half lead in the playoffs. This shit deflecting it on Doc only serves to take away from the fact that Siakam comes in with elbows up and injures a guy with bull shit. These have always been the unspoken rules. You play that way when it’s decided ok. But when you are reckless and you come that way you’re responsible for what happens. It is what it is.

And btw yes, in hindsight, they should have had Embiid out of last game sooner. For a whole host of reasons, even if you take away what actually happened.

Also human nature…you’ve gotten cucked and closed out on your home floor. You’re angry and frustrated and come recklessly with elbows up because you’re mad. He’s responsible for what comes next. Did he intend to hurt a dude he’s friendly with and potentially end his season? Of course not. Does that change anything? Nah. Not for me. He’s also this guy.

That was uncalled for. A lot of cheapshots by both teams in that series but did you expect anything less?

Yeah that doesn’t make sense. Up 25+ with 4 to go??? Why the fuck are your players in? Doc is gonna Doc. We said this postseason was on his shoulders mainly and could have just fucked up the entire series now. Philly needs 1 out of the next 2, if not they wont win this series

You had a second round series dubb handed to you and you’re still mad.

Raptors missed 2 of their top 4 in at least 4 games. Trying to discredit Miami before a series even started is embarrassing.

No it is all Siakam fault. The 29 point lead in jeopardy with under 4 to go according to sixers fans

When the Sixers are involved the issue isn’t the careless and reckless elbows coming in. The issue is having personnel on the floor playing basketball. It’s Doc’s fault.

Like what more do you want people to say about the Siakam play? It should have been a flagrant and its unfortunate Embiid got hurt. We are not going to act like did some super dirty shit like push someone in the back while they are in mid air

No one said it’s in jeopardy. Here’s what people said:
- team has had an issue closing all season and nothing wrong with wanting to close out with confidence
- it’s being brought up to deflect from a reckless elbow that may have ended a guy’s season

No one at any time said the game was in jeopardy. Quit lying.

No one is saying that the play should be considered super dirty.

Some of us ARE saying that the innocence of the play is in question given that it happened RIGHT AFTER Embiid did the airplane move.
