Yeah, maybe Cesar has more value than we give him credit for. He did have like a 3.5 WAR last year. I'm not in a hurry to trade Odubel either, although they should consider all offers. If they got Martinez I would keep Odubel and move Kendrick to 2nd base until someone else was ready.

I guess it comes down to how much you believe in our chances the next two years. I'm not overly optimistic for 2017, but maybe in 2018 he could help us

Yeah, actually in the article it said they might be trying to get Martinez to flip to a contender at the end of the year. I was hoping we'd be contending by 2018.

It appears that we need to be close to around 89/90 wins in order to be contending or make the playoffs.

From 04-06 The phillies were in 2nd place with 85-88 wins. 90 wins could just get us in second place, as the Nats have a good year or two left and the mets will be competitive for a while (granted things can always fall apart).
