The Bengals have done squat in the run game, while sporting a pretty impressive passing attack. Don't look now but the last time the Broncos played such a one dimensional team the defense put on a clinic and the Broncos won the game 20-18.

I think offensively the team is going to lean heavily on the run game. That'll go a long way toward taking the hostile crowd out of the game early and take pressure off our QB.

Still, this will be a tough one and nobody will be surprised if the Bengals win.

I'm super tired of waiting for Jeff Heuerman to materialize into something meaningful. At this point, bring back Owen Daniels!!

You can find Daniels in the dental office. He is putting his degree to use.

Saw that. Wonder who they are planning on bringing in. My guess is TE depth. So either Henry Kriegal-Coble or however you spell his name. Not sure what FA's are out there that are immediate help like what we need.
My guess we are bring a TE out of retirement or a DE we had on the team last year ..

They already brought somebody in. Looks like they are going heavy at safety with Simmons having a hand injury.

Broncos Injury Report: Virgil Green sidelined

The tight end is "day-to-day," but was not at practice Wednesday as the Broncos began getting ready for the Bengals with a helmetless practice.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- Tight end Virgil Green, right tackle Donald Stephenson and outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware were not on the field as practice began Wednesday.

The absences of Stephenson and Ware were expected. Stephenson is likely to miss Sunday's game at Cincinnati because of a calf injury, and Ware underwent surgery for a fractured forearm Tuesday. But Green had been considered "day-to-day" after leaving the Week 2 win over the Colts in the fourth quarter because of a calf problem.

All other Broncos players were on the field Wednesday, including safety Justin Simmons, whose left hand was heavily wrapped.

Tight end Jeff Heuerman and offensive lineman Ty Sambrailo also continued to work. Both were inactive last Sunday, but Head Coach Gary Kubiak said Monday that both were healthy enough to play if they had been needed.

Wide receiver Bennie Fowler was also at practice, still wearing a brace on the right elbow he fractured on Aug. 11.

I think you guys mostly have it right..... Our offensive line has been surprisingly bad and our running game has sucked. Hard to figure why that is the case when the scheme and personnel has not changed significantly. League didn't do us any favors by scheduling the Jets, Steelers and Broncos to begin the season. We might start looking a little better when we start playing teams like the Browns and Bills.

Dalton is much better than he was early in his career. AJ is AJ. They really miss Eifert. Boyd looks like a great find as a rookie and LaFell is probably average at best.

The defense is still good. The D-line and secondary are particularly good. The linebackers are the weak-link - Particularly without Burfict.

Kubiak has probably given the Bengals more trouble than any HC outside of the Pittsburgh guys (Cowher and Tomlin). We've never figured out how to defend a bootleg which is probably why the only time we beat you was when Manning as back there.

I have a hunch that the Bengals play well on offense this week and I'll give us a slight edge due to a 1:00 kick-off for the Broncos first road game. But I certainly wouldn't bet on it.

Thanks for stopping by. I'm hoping more of the Bengals fans come on over during this week to talk football.

Any thoughts on why you think the OL has struggled so much? They did a bit better week 2 than week 1 but week 1 hard to get much worse. I was honestly shocked as they seem to have a pretty good veteran group that I thought did pretty well last year.

One of my favorite plays! Still can't believe that happened. The start of that season going 6-0 with new coaching staff just seemed like we were doing the improbable.

To be honest, they have always been better pass blockers than run blockers.... And even then, that statistic is probably skewed because Dalton is very good at getting the ball out in a hurry. It's also notable that the run stats started to dip last year. Most of us attributed it to Jeremy Hill having a second year slump. This year has been embarrassing though - All those sacks in week 1 and then they didn't even trust their abilities to run it in from the 1 yard line on first and goal.

The personnel is largely the same. We let Andre Smith walk and his replacement has been shaky. Our center has always sucked and has somehow become worse. And Kevin zeitler, a talented young guard, is in a contract year (and maybe pressing). Also heard multiple coaches/players this week say it was one player making a mistake - I thought that was peculiar. If we see any changes this week, we'll know why.

Best of luck.

And to the poster that uploaded that video -- Screw you for ruining my day!

Haha it always seems like the Bengals are on the losing end of those kind of things.

Anyway this Sunday should be huge for both teams. Broncos first road game against a quality opponent. A win really helps establish them as maybe 1 of the top-4 teams in the NFL with a chance to really repeat. For the Bengals they can't really afford to fall further behind the Steelers for the division.

And really some great match ups. The strength of your offense is the passing game right now and the strength of our defense is the pass rush/secondary. Have to see who wins that battle. Strength of your defense is your pass rush/secondary and we need to see our young QB continue to show he can progress and make some more plays. This game might just come down to whose OL holds up better and which QB makes the fewer mistakes.

Kubiak 6-0 against Cincy including a playoff win with TJ Yates .
Marvin is one of the worst playoff coaches 0-7.
