Lakers Agree To Deal With Mozgov

After this deal I believe I'm up for a raise. Yippee Ki-yay mofos. Cha ching! I have crazy skills for fouling bad free throw shooters, ala Hack a Shaq. Someone is gonna pay me.

The money makes this look like a panic move, but I think we're going to see a lot of rank and file players reel in a lot of cash. The real issue is can he be effective?

He will be effective, but only up to a point and he does not bring the team up in value enough to attract elite players. It might help attract enough players to get the Lakers into the 30+ wins bracket though and that is their only goal right now besides developing the youngsters

Another possible reason for the Mozgov signing, that folks are overlooking, may be the drafting of Ivica Zubac. He's a projected first round talent who fell to the Lakers at #32 (similar to how they got Clarkson). So, part of the reason to get Mozgov may have been to help with the development of Zubac.

If memory serves, Mitch said something awhile back about needing solid vets to help with the development of the youngsters.

Pretty excited for the season too. I can't wait to see what Luke brings and how the young guys improve. I agree about Ingram. The more I read about him and Simmons, the more I like Ingram. I think Simmons still projects to be the better overall player, but I think he also projects as more likely to not fulfill his potential.

I agree with TJF12's assertion that Mosgov is/was signed to fill the need for vet active playing "consultants" to help with the development of youngsters such as Croatia boy. BUT, and this is a subjective matter, one does not have to throw that amount of cash at a player/consultant who is NOT the best out there for the dollar value. Short Buss coulda/shoulda/woulda has been his montra as many of us have been stating ever since this warped flip job got is hands on the Lakers reins.

I don't think you understand - when your team is so bad that no one is interested, you have to over-pay the greedy ones that will bring you back - this is to be expected

I can't say this about the last two, Randall or Russel (And there is still hope for either, if not both ) but I got this very good feeling about Ingram.

I'll say it now, Ingram will be an All Star, if not a Superstar in this league, before it is all said and done.

So IMO, it's all good to take a jab every now and then, and let all roll with the punches as long as it's not below the belt so to speak, however team boards are for the like minded to gather and rejoice or bitch about their team success, struggles or direction, not for fending off trolls.
