I know Roogie was wrong to do what he did, but I don't give a damn! Sometimes you gotta say enough is enough and beat a dude down. MLB has to love this. It flies right in the face of "baseball is boring" narrative.

The Jays reacted exactly like I would have expected them to, coming out and trying to surprise someone with a sucker punch, or from behind in Pillar and Donaldson's case. They got met head on with a flurry they weren't prepared for or able to handle and they got what they should have. Now its Texas that are cowards?

Give me the Rangers vs just about any team in MLB in a brawl, Id say we stack up pretty good. I do hope going forward we just try and win baseball games and put all the other stuff behind us, until someone tries the bullying crap again.

The reason(s) they would have to suspend players is exactly why. It's not like MLB has a higher authority to answer to... They technically don't have to suspend any of the players.

We like it because our guy hit their guy. The commissioners office probably would prefer the players didn't punch each other.

I believe they are more duplicitous than that. By suspending them they can pretend they don't like it, but it actually helps revenue because it generates a buzz about the game and helps sell tickets and ads during games.

IDK hockey fights seem to be ok for NHL ratings. I don't condone fighting but since it has a place in sports when necessary, I don't see why it would be all that taboo. The Jays IMO started most of this with their beaning of Roogie and the other antics that followed last year, so they need to take their medicine. MLB should look at this as it simply governed itself for the most part and suspend guys for what they are trying do to change the rules of the game and the rest is just part of the way it played out

I expect 5-7 no doubt. That said anything more would seem quite excessive to me since the league should keep in mind the natural emotions humans especially right after a very dirty and illegal slide that tries to take his knees.

Coming out of the dugout after being tossed...there is no doubt he is suspended, but probably not for long enough.

Some of the local media are trying to turn this into an old school vs. new school discussion. Many feel they have to say the Bautista bat flip last October was kinds cool. Some folks in the media like to attack anything that resembles old school thinking The Bautista bat flip was way beyond making Baseball a fun sport to watch. The one guy on The Ticket this morning actually said something to the effect that his bat flip makes more people interested in baseball. That is a load of garbage. I am all for getting rid of some of the unwritten rules in baseball, but showing up the other team and slinging the bat over towards their dugout has nothing to do with being fun. I doubt that one person has decided to become a fan of baseball due to Bautista's bat flip last October. I am tired of the media thinking they have to bend over backwards to keep from appearing to be a homer and I am tired of those who feel that they have to rag on everything that they consider old school.

I think Odor gets 5 or 6 games and successfully appeals to get it knocked down to 2-3 games. Bautista should get more for his slide and bowing up to Odor to begin the fight. Just because Odor was able to get away form the slide better than Bautista could get out of the way of Odor's fist shouldn't matter. Bautista's intent was to injure Roogie and he could have ended his season.
