The rotation we can write down in ink are only Hamels, Perez, and Holland. Darvish probably won't be full strength until August. So the Rangers are going to be pretty much in the same situation they were in this year--be good enough until they reinforcements arrive, in this case, Darvish. They are going to need at least 2 more starting pitchers, and that's if Holland doesn't trip over his dog again.

Darvish should be in the rotation by June.

He probably will, but I don't think he's going to be full strength 100% until August. I'd love to be wrong though.

Nobody has anything to say, good or bad, surprised or was an expected move, regarding Andy Hawkins leaving.

Our BP has been good for many years under Hawks tutelage. Don't know why this came about, but it seems somewhat outta the blue to me.

If I had to make a guess, Hawkins really wants to see if he can become a pitching coach, and not just one in the BP. And that position is occupied in Texas. So time to move on.

He'll have his bumps for sure. Will be very interesting to see how he responds.

May be because of the success that he had here. Like a FA someone has offered big money.

Gallardo will not be a Ranger next season. He will reject the QO and get multiple years from some NL team.

Yu won't be Yu again until 2017 but we'll see glimpses in Aug and Sept. I believe Perez will have a great year in 2016. Colby will be back on a one year deal with a team option for a second year.

Holland will probably fall off a riding lawn mower and tear his acl.

Frankly, I hope so. He worked long and hard here and hopefully it pays off him. But we'll see soon enough.

There has been some discussion about when to expect Darvish back. I believe guys are returning earlier than they used to. Martin Perez made his first rehab start 1 year and 22 days after his surgery. 38 days later he was pitching in the big leagues. Darvish would begin pitching in rehab on April 8th and would be in the big leagues on May16th if he is on the same schedule. I think Strausburg returned to the big leagues just barely over a year after his surgery. I know it varies, but I think there is nothing wrong with thinking there is a better than 50% chance that he makes it back by mid May.

Of course there can always be setbacks, but then that is the case with everyone. Any of the players could tweak something and be delayed some coming out of ST as well.

i would use the word caution here here. if you rush him you may lose him for even longer

I'd be pretty shocked if the Dodgers let Greinke go somewhere else.

He may stay there for the most $, but I think money being consistent elsewhere, he would love to go somewhere else. Seems to be dysfunction out there and the Dodgers offense let him down quite often this year

I dont see Darvish getting locked up. I see him testing the FA market after 2017.

I would be surprised to see Darvish agree to stay, before he sees what kind of money is out there for him

I've been on record with, "after Yu gets healthy, and we see what we/he have, then give him/agent a good bid and see what happens." If it goes to the next stage, meaning "the Rangers are willing to go to here and only here, and Yu doesn't sign; then my FOR SALE SIGN is on."

Can you imagine what Darvish can bring back in a trade (IF HEALTHY)? He's great, he's young, and he's incredibly inexpensive until 2018.
