We are out of the Tornado watch for now. Talked to a biker yesterday that told me he started out in Laramie, WY and it was snowing heavily. I told him we hadn't had snow in 5-6 weeks. Dude was surprised how warm it was here. My oldest got her Masters Degree in Education yesterday - I am so proud of her!

we decided a couple of weeks ago to have our son's b-day party at the zoo. of course, all week they were predicting rain for Saturday, then it rains all Saturday morning, we get to the zoo about 11:30 and it's just slowing down and stopping and even at that time it said it was going to rain again at like 3 or 4 pm, then it didn't. turned out to be a wonderful afternoon at the zoo.

of course all the rest of omaha thought so too. I couldn't believe how many people were there even before us, in the rain. the indoor exhibits must have just been packed with people. that's why i pretty much always save those for last, we went through the aquariam towards the end of the day and it was virtually empty. honestly if you have a family pass, the best time to go out there is like 3pm through close at 6pm. everyone is usually leaving then and a lot of the indoor exhibits are pretty empty.

I haven't gotten to the zoo yet this year, although I'd like to. I am not a big fan of going on the weekend during the summer, it's just too crowded for me. Glad to hear the party turned out well...I had a birthday party at the zoo when I was little and it was definitely one of my better ones.
