well, he was definitely not a guy I wanted, considering the Saints are on a downhill slide lately, and he was the one who did the trade up for Brandin Cooks, which I thought was a terrible deal for New Orleans to make.
But whatever. Have to give him a chance and some time and let him make his own bed.
At least he will be in on the head coach decision. That's a plus. And very glad we didn't hire Ballard.
Yeah, not thrilled, but I was happily surprised to hear it was not Ballard as well.
It's tough from a fan standpoint with GM hires. We're not behind the scenes seeing what part they EXACTLY played in what. And we're not in the interview room hearing his plans for the future.
With coaches, at least you can measure what they did in numbers, for the most part. There's a DIRECT product of their work in place. A guy that was director of player personnel for two years… hard to say.
We'll see. Interested to see how he plays some of the key moves in this pivotal off-season.
