Can you even IMAGINE how gratifying it would be to witness an Aaron Rodgers-type slide for Johnny?

It would be awfully gratifying for him if he had a sniff of success like Rodgers - but I highly doubt that.

Jaws also said that Weeden would be a "rock solid" NFL QB :laugh3: yeah listen to him for advice.

Manziel is a slower and weaker armed Russell Wilson. If it weren't for his name he'd be a 3rd-4th rounder

Smoke screen, I'm telling you it wont be Manziel.... Browns have failed to many times on "hit wonder" OB's...

Well it's definitely a "smoke screen" that makes me happy to think about... Manziel would get destroyed in the AFCN

Manziel has the hand size to get good velocity on a ball. He just needs to bulk up...in general.

I think he is a fringe 1st rounder but will go higher

I'm not sure Manziel is someone that I would bank the future of my franchise on. I'm not sure he's mature enough to be a franchise leader. Manziel is more RG3 than Russell Wilson.

If Jake Plummer can last a decade in the NFL, I think Manziel will be fine as long as he protects his knees

Browns will take Broyles, write it down heard it hear first....

I'm sure they would like to...I think HOU will take Bortles or Bridgewater, JAX will take the one HOU leaves on the board and CLE will take the 3rd QB off the board...will it be Manziel or Carr idk...Johnny could slide off his combine...I thought OAK for awhile and I still think he'll end up there.

If it were me running the show in CLE (thankfully I have a day job) I would trade my 2nd rd pick #35 (keep in mind they have two 1st rounders #4 & 26 and two 3rd rounders 71 & 83) for Cousins or Mallet.

Then I would trade 26 to a team like ATL to get their 37 & 99 picks and use 37 on Mettenberger with the idea that he competes for the starting job in '15.

Taking Manziel @ 4...I don't get and I'm like Elway, he's a nice little player.

I think what a lot of people are forgetting is that there is a 4 year age difference between the rookies coming out and Cousins/Mallett. You need to have a really, really high opinion of someone to give up 4 years of play.

My guess is that the Browns trade a 2nd to move up and take Bridgewater ahead of JAX and they have the better pick than Oakland so they can do that. JAX I think would be happy with Clowney so they'll let them. The Browns have a 2nd 1st rounder so they can get an elite WR prospect just due to the nature of this draft.

That is a great draft day trade all around but I'm gonna throw something out there,

What if OBrien doesn't feel like he can get what he's looking for in a QB in this class and pulls the trigger on a trade for Mallet???

As for this I will use the disclaimer you already used ( I have a day job)

If I'm pulling the strings in Cleveland I'm not trading any picks, the offensive line still has holes, you got a LT and center, why not pull the trigger on a OT if Bortles is gone by #4, say Jake Mathews cause he was passed up. Then at #26 Im pulling the trigger if David Yankey is still there to plug one of my guard positions, or if I get the choice of Bortles at #4 then instead of Yankey at #26 I'm grabbing my OT Richardson out of Tennessee.

So lets say I get my QB and OT in round #1 now the second :
at # 35 I grab Bishop Sankey RB out of Washington, ( not a homer pick) but for the all round ability he brings to the game, running, catching and blocking.

Into the 3rd round:
at #71 I take Carlos Hyde RB Ohio st, ( I just gave myself a "thunder and lighting show in my backfield) now at #83 I finish my O line make over and grab Gabe Jackson out of Mississippi St to plug a guard spot....

Now granted this little show is if I land Bortles at #4, but if I don't I still stay the course, just for the simple fact of multiple needs on offense, I just gave Cleveland a running game they haven't had since Mack and Byner played there, plus an Oline that in a couple season should be one of the nastiest around with Thomas and Mack already there.....

My point is this lot of picks in those first three rounds, I'm letting this board fall to me, there is depth every postion, ( except maybe QB class that's still to be determined) even if I didn't get my QB, I would still roll the dice and play this format, just cause I got Weeden and Hoyer ( who didn't look bad before injury) but now they have a serious running game, and better blocking in the passing game...

That's because Manziel is going to be hot garb in the NFL... You will figure this out soon enough

I can't wait to laugh when he proves all his haters and doubters wrong. He's been working all offseason to make himself a better QB. He isn't sitting around doing nothing and getting by by his name. He will be a solid QB in the NFL.

I hope he at least enjoys all that hard work he puts in to be a bench warmer...

I smell an avatar bet

LOL bench warmer, keep dreaming.

I'll make any bet, my first avi on here was of Manziel, since clearly I am a huge fan of his

It's hard to make a bet on this though... He probably won't be a bench warmer with the hype surrounding him, so clearly someone is going to make him a starter day 1 and subsequently waste their year on him. I'd have to wait and see which division he falls in before I threw out a specific bet.
