What the fuck was that period?

3 horrendous calls (2 on the Sharks 1 on the Kings).. just put the whistle down dude.

Sharks had some good shifts with around 9 minutes left after the break. They were out hustling the Kings, getting to loose pucks and getting some chances - drawing penalties too but...

Our PP sucks bad. No goals at all? There have been some chances but the Sharks not burying anything there is going to hurt them - it may put them on the golf course in an hour or so.

Top lines look better - at least they are skating, getting shots on Quick, and not giving up goals but these guys need to pull this win out... Bad play on Nieto - definitely his fault there but in all honesty he has done far more good than harm in this series. Sharks should have 3 right now and do not.

I guess we will see what happens in the 3rd - its a better effort but, well.. no point stating the obvious.

Go Sharks!

On the bright side, after this collapse, it cant get worse. Missing the POs is not worse. They literally cannot go lower than this, so I suppose you have to hit rock bottom before you can climb your way up. Welcome to rock bottom sharks fans!

Sheppard has been awesome, and its such a shame that the entire top 6 forward crew just quit on the team. too bad...
.

Wingles too - and I think Torres (I still dont like him..) has been pretty good too or more importantly he hasn't done a lot of the things that earn him the wrong kind of attention. He hasn't been very visible this game but over the series I think he has contributed positively.

Ultimately though - I agree. I want more from that top $12-15 million on our team. No way they win a cup with both of those guys there and one of them captain. They HAVE to be auxiliary to a real leader. Maybe we send both of them to Washington for Ovechkin and build around him?

Go Sharks!

What game are you watching? The top dogs have been terrible. they have had the first 75 seconds of every PP and did not score. They only had a couple good looks anyways. On the other end, Dougty, Williams, kopitar are killing the sharks again. Simply put, the sharks bottom six are crushing LA's bottom six but LA's top 6 and absolutely blowing away the sharks top 6. Unfortunately, its usuall the top 6 that decide games. Including this game, Marleau, thornton, pavelski, burns, and couture have zero points in the last 3 losses. ZERO. Not a goal. Not a point, and a ton of minuses. 0-13 on the PP. The numbers are staggering and it is just impossible for them to hide. There's just no place for those "leaders" to blame.

well, you gotta tip your hat to Todd. He stuck with the #1 PP unit all the way to the golf course. nothing like a solid 0-13 PP. Hey if they suck all season, why switch it up.

No show joe has zero shots and god knows how many turnovers. No real reason to expect different, but here comes the excuses of "bad calls" or "the puck had crosses the line and we got robbed..."

The real question is does doug wilson have the guts to do what boston did in 2005 and get rid of joe thronton and then have patty follow him out the door.. The answer is of course no, because no show joe fills seats and everyone just loves captain blinky. Simple as that. The sharks are a business and the business does well.

However, again the bottom six create a goal. Sheppard has been awesome, and its such a shame that the entire top 6 forward crew just quit on the team. too bad...

Have a good summer folks. At least nemo didnt shit the bed... yet.

Yeah because Pavelski and Burns have been outstanding tonight lol. Marleau and Couture are the only 2 sharks top 6 who can say they are having a decent game, hertl i havent really heard much from, other then the one move pavelski made in front of the net hes been on his ass, missed an open net again But he isnt the only one who has missed open nets to night.

Not trying to troll. I was just looking in to see what you guys thought of the game so far and I can't believe a lot of you have given up already. Still 20 minutes of hockey left and a 1-goal lead isn't all that easy to protect. The Kings have to stay out of the penalty box. Your team's power play seems pretty lethal and way overdue to score. Here's hoping for a great 3rd period and nobody getting injured.

We are conditioned Ox lol We've all seen this before with this team, they respond like nervous poodles under pressure and adversity. Talent wise they've got all the tools, mentally they are as frail as an eggshell.

Thanks for the PSA but maybe it's best if you just let the Sharks fans work through what they're feeling on their own. Off you go now.

3-1 that should just about do it.
Still lots of time left but this team just isn't showing the desire.

Game. I'll never pay again to watch this joke of a franchise until they show they have heart.

Softest team in the NHL. Adios Thornton, Marleau and co.

It is official now. WOW. That is that. Sharks now join a rare fraternity. Thornton is going to have a legacy. 20 years from now we will see the Joe Thornton award given annually to the one who underachieves the most each season.

Death watch on for TMAC now and Baby Jay now. Robinson is gonna say fuck this and heading back east.

The Sharks will never have any grit so long as Marleau is on the team.

Same one you are dude - read the post... I said *better* not good. I have also been critical of the same things you are talking about.

I'm not the fucking enemy. If I owned this team, I would walk down there right now and tell Thornton and Marleau they are fired, right NOW. I wouldn't even wait until the end of the game.

Has the guy ever blocked a shot? Or been bloodied? Face still looks like it did when he was 18. Damn right he is soft.

Robinson's learning experience. He'd be wise to join another organization outside of SJ.

I hope the fans boo this team mercifully, and i hear boo birds now. I could really care less if this team relocates (although that's not happening) because this team is just an afterthought.

I came to that realization about 3 years ago and canceled by season tickets - pretty much blows guys. We deserve better.

I wish I could fire them too. But Dougie had to sign them mid season...and for 3 more years. Fuck you Dougie. Could have had them at 50% discount now. Not $6+ million players. What a waste of future cap space.

Great regular season team, not much of a gritty team when it counts. What a legacy for Thornton and Patricia Marleau.
