Tyler Myers might be a nice reclamation project but his contract is horrible right now

Loved the idea of Myers when we played the Sabres a few years ago in playoffs. It appears his play has dipped well below his contract value these days however...

I believe it is his opinion and quite frankly, it's a dumb one. B Schenn has been very good for us lately and for those noticing is starting to become really good at protecting the puck and finding seems to get into. Also from everything I've read and heard the Flyers brass is really high on Morin so I can't see how they would trade both for Kesler who is hurt and aging when you already have Couturier filling the role Kesler is best suited for & let's not forget Kesler said he doesn't want to play W so where would we put him even if B Schenn went to VAN we still have Lecavilier who is not really adjusting to the W.

If we're making a trade with VAN I think Edler is the target.

On a side note I know every trade rumor starts with B Schen, Couturier, Voracek, Simmonds or Laughton but I really can't see how based off the players coming back how any serious columnist would think the Flyers would be moving those players. I mean we didn't move them for Shea Weber FFS why would we move one of them for Kesler or a struggling Gardiner or Buff? It really boggles my mind but I guess because that's what teams will ask for they assume the Flyers brass will give them up. In my eyes Kesler is worth Hartnell and Gus & I know VAN wants more then that so I'd say now. For those who ask why I say Hartnell just remember he's the 3rd Sedin according to himself from the all-star game 2-3 years ago

agree with all of this, and all of you on the kesler thing.

to the bold, i think that's dead on. i think everyone who enters trade talks with the flyers starts with couturier, no go, "what about BSchenn?", no go, *click*. just have to ride it out, give some of the recent draft picks a little time, make a few more draft picks (hopefully good ones), and let the youngsters develop.

as great as kesler is, he's really not that necessary on this team. and schenn / morin is an overpayment in my opinion. morin should not be moved unless he's part of a package to land an established top pair defenseman.

overwhelming depth down the middle is heck of a "problem" to have. someone will need to able to play some wing or we will need to ship out the surplus to fortify the back end. we just have to be sure that we are trading on our terms for what we want and not getting fleeced because other teams know we have a surplus at C.

I don't necessarily agree that doing NOTHING is the right course, but I do agree that a blockbuster move is not likely the best answer, either. The Flyers should still look to make a lesser move or two if the price is right. Florida just stole C Brandon Pirri from Chicago for a 3rd and a 5th. That's the type of move the Flyers should be looking for....although perhaps not for another center....but they should be looking to pull off another Leino-type acquisition like in 2010.

I think his value was next to nothing at the start of the season. So the 2nd rounder reflects that improvement.

I'd be OK either way on that one I think. They still have Gus and Gil scratched. I'd like to claim corvo off waivers if they do deal Mesz though. Just to have an extra puck mover in case of injury.
