This is the first time the Giants have not faced Clayton Kershaw in a series since September 3-5 in 2010...

A-Gon, Kemp, Ramirez, Ethier in the series: 5-36. 1 hit with runners in scoring position (which ended up being key) with 10K's, 3 BBs, and 2 RBI.

Vogelsong starts tomorrow with a 10+ era last 5 games. Shake it off young man, suck in your gut, straighten your back, hold your head up and blow those Rox down.

Don't mind him sticking around, but we need to address LF next year.

What do you think about Ichiro ??

No way he signs with the Yanks and rumor has it he wants to play on the west coast and was almost a Giant at the trade deadline , not sure what he is looking for $$ .

Really great series this weekend, with some luck on our side (Kemp, Kershaw out). I think we can start to breathe easy now, with so few games left and the tougher LA schedule, we're probably going to win this division. Hopefully we lead by 4 heading to LA at the end of the year so we can truly relax, they will still be fighting for a wild card.

Zito revives the debate: who gets left off the playoff roster, him or Tim? And does Vogelsong enter that debate if he keeps stinking it up this month?

Might be a matter of the opponent, Zito might get the nod if we face the Braves.

As also mentioned by Alex Pavlovic, the Dodgers looked like a team that conceded this game before they ever stepped on the field. Whether that defeatist attitude extends beyond this game will be something to watch for as this week unfolds.

Zito is 10-1 this year when receiving four or more runs of support.... Giants scoring 5.2 runs/gm on the road.....

Seems like a simple decision to me.

In the Platonic ideal of statistical decisions (i.e. in a videogame), it is. In the world of Sabean being lambasted for leaving Mr. Cy Young/2010 hero/marketing juggernaut off the roster if he's pitching even semi-decently?

Not to mention how that affects said pitcher's head...Zito gets props for taking it like a man in 2010, but it wasn't even a debate, he was awful and there were 4 clearly better guys. But this year would Tim handle that so well? Would Vogey?

Would Zito be okay with it again? Zito seems like a numbers guy, and he sees the majority of them are in his favor. I truly think though, if Tim pitches decently his last few starts he is a lock (if he isn't already a lock). Unless Volgy puts it together, he could be the long guy out of the Pen that we've been missing, or Zito may be the one. But then Mota is looking better lately so he may re-claim his job as the long man.

Zito can't be a playoff reliever, you'd never trust him with men on.

It is a quandary.

Without Kershaw and Kemp, the dogs are a bunch of average, overpaid, big names.

With Kershaw and Kemp, the dogs are barely a wildcard contender
