anyone see last episode of Curbed? Had to know as soon as it was clear there would be a court case they were going to somewhat mimic the Seinfeld finale.

Too bad not really possible to have allowed a Jackie Chiles cameo.

I don’t do the UFC stuff but there is someone fighting named Jahamal Hill. That’s close enough for me to bet on the other person.

Lakers free throw attempts - 107

Nuggets free throw attempts - 81

Lakers free throws made - 91

Nuggets free throws made - 66

That's 7 more free throws and 6 more points from free throws per game for the Lakers.

The Lakers made 35% of their 3's while allowing the Nuggets to shoot 40% from 3.

That resulted in the Nuggets outscoring them by 16 points per game from 3.

Considering the games were close...maybe the Lakers should have defended the 3 better?

In short, it was the Lakers not defending the 3 point line very well, especially late in games, that cost them that series, not fouls.

Jamal Murray led all scorers with an average of 32.5 ppg.

Maybe they should have defended him better too?
I can see that a little bit but the totals differ from the free throws per game as you pointed out. I think many laker fans saw the extreme advantage that they got against Golden st in the playoffs and expected that trend to continue. The lakers were the top team in free throw attempts by a wide margin. Denver is near the bottom in free throw attempts and is next to last this season.

So you could make the case that they should have had more than 6 free throws advantage. Denver is in the bottom 10 for free throw attempts by opponents. So did they miraculously become just great defenders without fouling? Or is it more likely they just got the advantage from lack of whistles in playoffs? I'm fairly certain the Lakers didnt defend the moving screen expert warriors from 3 well either. but they did have the free throw advantage by a wide margin. Essentially Denver got home favoritism calls and no calls and then went to LA and got the same.

Again it was the commentators and analysts repeatedly emphasized the missed calls. there was a whole 5 minute video of the calls way back then.

You already admitted to you want the best team in every game on the opposing team so it might not be to far of a stretch to say you would rather your team lose than win because of a foul advantage even if that advantage existed for the whole season.

Actually, the Lakers defended the 3 better against the Warriors than they did the Nuggets. The Warriors shot 35% from 3.

While the Warriors did hit a lot more 3's than the Lakers, they literally had no size and no way to stop the Lakers without fouling. The Nuggets at least have some size to slow the Lakers attacking the paint.

Your last sentence is just pants on head stupid.

I mean I have done one if you are talking me (not high level).....and that's cool you'd take his opinion over mine, but know there could be hundreds (thousands?) who have done both and disagree with him.

different subject but does your draft guru ever tell you the QBs he likes or does not like before the draft?

I just did a quick search online about which people think is tougher and seems like the vast majority say basketball.

Which makes sense when you think about the subjectivity of the calls, the pace of play, conditioning needed for the officials, instantaneous response, number of officials on the court at a time and what they are looking for, etc.

I have done basketball. It is really hard. And when a basketball lifer and incredibly impressive person tells me that football (a sport he knows nothing about) is a lot easier to ref than basketball, I don’t need to look much further.

Always.

I just haven’t talked to him in awhile.

Texted him just now. Will see what he says.

Just got off the phone with him. Not a ton of detail because talked about life more than football. Had t talked to him in like 3 months.

Daniels was the guy he raved about.

None of the top guys had any real red flags to worry about. All look like they have chance to be pretty good.

But Daniels looks like the dude.
