Don't be a jabroni.
Game night again, crazy to think the Kings will have seen Vancouver 4 times in a month starting last week but didn't see them at all through 60 games. These games have divisional and playoff implications, not to mention you play a team that many times in such a short period there will be hostility build up. Imagine if these two met in the first round, I'm sure they'd love some revenge for 2012.
Looks like the Kings will go 11/7 again so Arty Retardy the scratch. I don't even know what to say about that guy anymore, his time is done here and it was an extreme disappointment. Just move the guy for a 3rd, clear his $880,000 or whatever and let him be on his way. I obviously have positive expectations for draft picks, but when they linger for 5 years and don't really show much (JAD another one, even longer than Kaliyev) just move these types of players out. Give them a chance elsewhere and give another prospect a chance in thw system. This isn't doing the Kings or Kaliyev any favors.
Talbot expected to go again, he's posted a .955 S% since he started playing again, he's looking good. The lone NJ goal wasn't his fault (or Buster's, weird bounce off the stanchion) and the back hander is the ultimate wild shot, you never know how that's coming off the outside of a blade so you can't blame Talbot. I've salivated before thinking I have a sure shot goal as a D and on the backhand coming in from the right, launched that thing straight off the rink and into the stands. You never know with backhands and those who have played will attest to this. I thought it may have rattled Talbot but he was solid the rest of the way.
Good news is Kempe and Anderson skated with the team today but still considered week to week so don't expect them any time soon. No word on Grundstrom or Arvidsson, Grundstrom must have really took one for him to be out this long. Pretty durable otherwise, marginal B6 player but a physical presence. I'd rather have him in the lineup than JAD but that isn't saying much. Nevertheless expect JAD flanking PLD with Laferriere.
Canucks going with Demko again tonight, they got a 2-1 win over Anaheim on Sunday and I expect a better effort tonight against LA after the 5-1 beat down they took last week by LA so this won't be an easy game even if they've been uneven the last little while. The home record still concerns me big time.
OT: Kings signed Aaron Dell on a 1 year two way for depth in Ontario, it was basically Portillo and a warm body with both Rittich and Talbot in LA and Copley done for the year and most likely as a King.
Game time is 730 on BSW, having carnitas tacos and Mexican rice for dinner tonight so I'll be stuffing my face some more even at 730pm. Prediction: Vancouver 3-2 in a SO or OT, Fiala keeps it rolling with a goal and Spence finally gets his first of the season.
Let's Go Kings!
