How are you not understanding this?

If he signs for the league minimum, the Broncos owe him the full amount, if he signs the full amount, the Broncos owe him the league minimum, and anywhere in between.
Wilson is not going to sign elsewhere for the league minimum. Why would he? Do you think he’s stupid?

No one is saying he will. The point is whatever he signs for will be taken away from what Denver owes him. They use the league minimum as a way to show the example.

They know nothing more than a fan who follows the NFL. They are fans and lack objectivity.

Everyone other than a rabid Broncos fan knew that paying Wilson a quarter of a billion dollars was going to result in sacrificing critical talent elsewhere.

Denver has done a horrible job in the area of selecting a head coach lately. I put most of that on Elway. He’s a poor administrator.

It's very difficult to agree with your perspective when you continue to bring up Elway, who hasn't been part of the Broncos in years. That isn't a great way to establish credibility on this site.

Broncos fans were the loudest complainers when the contract was signed, so I'm not sure where you're getting that info from. Excited about the trade initially....yes. Pissed about the contract shortly thereafter...absolutely.

The Broncos have picked some really shitty coaches in the last 7 years but Sean Payton isn't one of them. As I shared earlier, Payton inherited a mess and has at least positioned the team with a little more respectability in his first year as HC.

No matter what Wilson does if he’s released and signs with a new team, the Broncos owe him tens of millions of dollars. The contract they gave him two years ago is one of the worst crafted contracts in NFL history.

She's from Atlanta and that's pretty much the hub of R&B/hip-hop music

So could be a fit

If we bring back Smith and Fontenot they're not going to pin their make or break year on a rookie

And if they go get a guy is much rather have Russ than Fields

For sure
That would be so bad for the Falcons. Need to get a new QB to grow while the running game is young and then take over the offense as they age.

Elway is still a consultant. Nothing happens without his input.

Payton has a grudge against RW....

RW is playing a lot better in his 1st year in Payton's new system.....

I actually am looking forward to this next QB Payton gets.....could be a lot worse than RW and the reason he gets fired.

LOL.
Which is ironic cause the Saints were a team he said he would wave his no trade clause

Giving him that contract isn't on Russ...any player would take it. That is squarely on ownership.
Any team that traded for him was going to have to give him a stupid contract.

Wrong. I’m not a Wilson fan. I think he acted selfishly in Seattle and burned his bridges. Still I can recognize his talent. I can recognize when he’s misused. He has a particular skill set and a scheme needs to utilize that.

How did the Broncos “shit on “ the Seahawks? If anything the reverse is true.

I lived amongst Broncos fans for six years. I know how you people think.

When the Broncos traded for Wilson you guys had them in multiple super bowls. You were giddy.

When he performed below his standards last year, the head coach had to go.

Even though he’s played well this year the failures of the Broncos now is all his fault. The coach is not held accountable.

Every objective football fan knew this was coming when the Broncos made the mistake of recycling a headstrong coach who has an overwhelming ego. The Payton hire was never going to work with Wilson as his QB. Everyone outside of Denver knew that.

I’d take him on a small contract with a rookie QB learning behind him.

I’m still trying to figure out why someone thinks I’m upset because the Broncos “shit on” the Seahawks because of the Wilson trade. That’s a bizarre thought when Seattle obviously got the best out that deal.

  1. He said the Broncos shit on Wilson, not on Seattle.
  2. Schmoopy is not a Broncos fan, so I'm not sure you know how he thinks.
  3. Yes, we were giddy.......until they signed the huge contract prior to him taking one snap as a Bronco.
  4. Hackett sucked and so did Wilson last year.
  5. Payton is in his first year and has done wonders with a poor team. Wilson has better stats this year but the Broncos offense is ranked nearly last in all categories. He's a big part of that. The coach will be held accountable if he doesn't improve performance over the next few years.
  6. So you've talked to everyone outside of Denver? It's too early to tell if the Payton hiring was good or bad but all early indicators are that he's improved performance and the culture.
