His fall to 10 had nothing to do with people not being aware of his talent. I absolutely wish the Lions had taken him, but lets not pretend like his fall was not without legitimate concerns.

Everyone knew what Philly got when they drafted him. Place was over run with of course he falls to the Eagles comments.

Now lets talk about Branch falling to 45!
Loved Branch throughout the draft. Wanted the Eagles to take him at 30 instead of Nolan Smith. Glad you guys drafted Gibbs. It made Swift expendable and he’s looking great.

He always does, we talked Swift after that trade. I hope he maintains his health, he deserves it.

While Carter at 6 would have been my preferred, I will say Gibbs and LaPorta instead seems to be working out. Laporta especially is looking great.

I was concerned when he got a single carry week one, I could not figure out the reason without it being health. He was the clear best back for them.

Drunken drag racing that resulted in a death. And that is in college, before he was given a shit load of money.

Enjoy your game wrecker now, but keep your fingers crossed that he doesn't do anything stupid.
I don't know. Kid looks to be doing everything the right way now and I hate that!!!!! :mad2:
I knew this was going to suck as an NFCE fan. Carter was IMO the best player in the draft and I don't understand how he wasn't the first non-QB off the board even with the issues. Hopefully he gets dinged for taking PEDs or hits mega millions and retires or something...

Yeah, Carter was always the best talent in the draft. Its just whether or not you wanted him on your team. I also think its pretty common for interior defensive linemen to fall to the double digits. I was more shocked when Penei Sewell dropped. Crazy to think he is still only 22. Lions could have an OT locked up for 15 years.

Branch was seen as having the best film of a defensive back and thats panning out. Certainly has better hands than Toney. Dropped almost a full round more than people had him originally because of traits. Closest analog on the Chiefs is probably them getting Nick Bolton at LB in rd2 but Branch is probably the more valuable player.

I’m just glad that the Eagles don’t have to deal with that juggernaut Gannon is building in Phoenix until the end of the season. The Eagles right now just aren’t ready for Josh Dobbs and that rushing attack.

Gonna be interested if this dude stays out of trouble...

With that being said, Carter looks like he's headlining a new gen of dominant DT's. Eagles got a superstar in the making.

Could clear up as early as next summer.

Not QUITE ready to crown Jalen Carter yet since he's playing 48% of snaps. In comparison Donald played 67% of his snaps his rookie year and as years went on was high 80s/90s.

The Eagles have a pretty insane DT rotation so I understand why his snaps are limited, but I'd like to see what Carter does on a more consistent basis where he's not as fresh every play. There's no reason for the Eagles to do that 'for science' but as players move on or get injured it will be interesting.

That said, he's been great so far. I'm a bit annoyed after the MNF game there's a bunch of commentary around, "Seattle fans who wanted Carter can finally STFU." Uh... look Witherspoon balled out and had an epic performance and 100% looks like a justified top 5 pick and despite nickel or outside is playing 100% of the snaps, but let's not fool ourselves into thinking through 4 weeks Carter wouldn't have been the wiser pick. DBs are pretty easy to find in free agency or trade for. Amazing DEs/DTs/OTs/QBs are rarely if ever traded and when they are released or traded they're past their prime.

Has Carter been amazing? How does his stats look compared to the other DTs on the team, outstanding or more like a depth player?

Eh I think a little bit of both. He's rotational for sure at 48% snaps, he's nowhere near the almost 70% snaps Donald was as a rookie and Donald was achieving 80%+ (even 90%) thereafter...

That said, he's been very impactful in his starts. A lot of pressures on the QB and some impact plays (sacks/fumbles).

To be expected, that DL is pretty deep.

Harold, he's an eagle and the steal of the draft the minute philly out thunk the league with the pick. He's in shape, he's moving well and darn near a challenger for an All Pro team through 4 games.
