Jerry made me sympathetic towards Stanton not spending money. When asked about spending money or whatever he said the Mariners have 3 top 50 contracts (or something like that). Well all 3 did nothing to get them into the playoffs. Ray didn’t pitch at all, Castillo choked in the biggest start of his career and Julio started his offseason on September 1st.
The top 50 all made $20 million+ this year. Neither Julio nor Castillo are even close. In his entire career, Castillo has made as much as Juan Soto has this year, and Soto was #33 in MLB salary for 2023, and if you don't think Castillo was worth the $11 mill he got this year then I don't know what to say lol. Julio won't be making that kind of money until 2025. You're cherry-picking incorrect info from a guy you called a condescending prick in your previous paragraph and feeling sympathy for his bosses. Baffling.

My point was you can’t build a roster of hopefully everything goes right.
That's what every org does every offseason. Jerry just isn't good enough at it with the resources he's been given. I'm in favor of opening up payroll, but there's no guarantee that'll win titles. But all you CAN do is put together the best roster possible with the resources you have and hope it pays off. It consistently has not for the M's.

This midling payroll and attempts to build a competitor through farming and trades isn't working and there are fewer and fewer people who think that Jerry's "master plan" will somehow pay off in the next couple of years if the approach to roster-building stays the same every offseason. They're putting out this narrative that there's something "wrong" with going after free agents while what we're currently doing is "the right path". Losing is actually winning. That's what Jerry and the M's PR express have been pumping out for the past couple of days, and it's a little disheartening for me that any of my fellow fans continue to eat it up.

Thing is, I don’t think we can use the payroll as the reason they didn’t make the playoffs. Stanton deserves criticism and Jerry doesn’t have the payroll of the Mets or a big market club, but he has enough of a payroll to win and was given a big enough payroll but all three of his big signings either weren’t on the field or failed.

I stand by this is on Jerry, he had a plan, his plan had a hiccup and he is too much of a moron to fix it. I know the moron thing is a contradiction because obviously he is a very bright guy, but he is a narcissist where he thinks he is the smartest guy in the room with zero reasoning to have that attitude. There isn’t debating in his entire career in the front office he has been a massive failure at winning. If Theo Epstein talked to us fans like that, then ok, he has done something in his career, Jerry nor Scott have accomplished anything to have that attitude. He had done a good job at generating revenue but that is not his job. Stanton created a new position where generating revenue is her job.

On another thread I laid out his exact plan was this current team but with Kyle Lewis in CF, Evan White at 1B and Semien at 2B. All 3 fell through and his personality flaw has no idea how to fix it.

And I despise his we are building a foundation when he told us all in the spring his core is getting broke up in the 2026 off-season.

I’m directly quoting Jerry, it’s not cherry picking at all. He is using that as the excuse not me. I’m not absolving Stanton in this but yes, sympathy was too strong of a word.

Mariners. Have..what.they...need.to.make.
A.good.impact.on....offseason
It seems simple ...

Just.get rid.of..strike.outs..add.to..hits..

But.if..you..say..jonathan.indea .
(For example).you are not saying..
A ..a cure ..
He.is.just.a younger..guy.who. does .
Not .strike..out..near .as much..
And may .have .a bit .of ..upside .

But one thing..is sure..they.must..
Get ride..of thoughts.strike..outs.
And replace..
With hits..
Now...
Canzone..dh..and a 1st base dh..
Will help..with that .by..driving.down.
At bats.
From .strike out..kings..

Wasn't Lewis hurt before the reimagine? I doubt Semien was ever realistic. A pipe dream in Dipoto's mind. White, ya that came during the reimagine, but was he a realistic prospect at that time? I mean offensively of course. Not picking sides, my memory just doesn't do timeframes very well any more.

Why Garcia..
What will you do.against right...at 2b..
If Rojas at 3b..
Then..Garcia is option..at 2b.
Yes 1b.platoon.as well..
And maybe full.time 1b..
But that gives options .
With France..as 1b/3b/dh
