What usually happens to players (hitters) when they have good years and then come to Seattle?
True but he had really good years so even if you deduct the T-Mobile curse you still have a guy who would hitter better than their last place rank of .144, 6 HR's 18 RBI's at that position. They just have to shoot higher on their additions which I think we all agree on. Getting guys on the downside of their respective careers and then sentencing them to Seattle is not the answer.

Mike Blowers

Blowers has been reluctant to share his story, but he agreed that it would be wise to do so now to quell any conspiracy theories that might crop up and to reassure fans.

There’s nothing sinister going on, folks. Simply put, the culprit has been an ongoing health issue — two of them, really; one segueing into the other seamlessly to create a hellish month of inactivity. Blowers says that watching the games from home has been a helpless and frustrating experience that he is ready to put in his past.

At first, it was a nagging case of bronchitis, mixed with a sinus infection and the flu, that kept Blowers, who is 58, out of commission for two weeks. And just when he was feeling better from that, and ready to go back to work, Blowers suffered an accident — a fall (while running) that resulted in a concussion and three stress fractures in his face.

Blowers is reluctant to provide further details, which is well within his rights and which I will respect. Suffice it to say that he just wasn’t feeling right, suffering from vertigo — not uncommon with concussions. Blowers tried to do one game but realized that he needed more time. And the Mariners graciously granted him all the time he needed.

Can anyone explain to me why Trammell is our DH and Kolten Wong is playing 2B when Caballero is outplaying him?

We got outscored 20-7 so winning one game is pretty amazing. :suds:
Yeah a win is a win… but a measly 4 hits in 9 innings against another pitcher with a 5+ era is still concerning.

Nice win …. we’ll take it

Agree

Mariners are on to something ... their chances of actually winning a baseball game goes up exponentially when their elite pitching staff manages to hold the opponent to 0 runs scored.

That is when their pathetic 1 single run scored can actually win a ball game

Would be nice to see Kelenic go yard a time or 2 this road trip. His quality of at bats / swings and misses have really declined over the past 2-3 weeks.
Not that I expected him to stay as hot as he was the month of April, he just appears to have really taken a big step backwards.
Still in a much better spot than anyone could have hoped for on June 1.

Teo's bat needs to resurface really soon or he is reaching benchable status... and I cringe to think Trammel could be a better option offensively.
That is the sad state of affairs the M's pathetic and punchless roster is in. When you have to start substituting below .200 hitters for another barely .200 hitter in hopes of picking the right guy who may or may not deliver 1 single base hit over the course of a 9 inning ball game.

Expect more of the same over the month of June. No reason to expect anything more than a .500 clip win %. That is our identity as a ball club.
That should have us firmly entrenched around 12-18 games behind the division leader at seasons end and around a dozen or more games back in the hunt for the last WC spot.

Even another 14 game win streak this season would only help that win % slightly and we would still not have a sniff of post season.

I could be mistaken, but I believe they are undefeated when this happens.

Hey let's give away what few prospects we have left because we cheaped out in the summer.

Jerry Dipoto, the Mariners’ president of baseball operations.

“We will go into the trade deadline part of this season looking for a bat, wherever that that might fit,” he said Thursday during the weekly Jerry Dipoto Show on Seattle Sports.
