What usually happens to players (hitters) when they have good years and then come to Seattle?

That’s the key, we should be a top 5 budget team but we’re always around 15th or so… M’s just won’t change there blueprint when it comes to spending, and they generate plenty of revenue with the unique situation they’re in … It’s not by accident we’re the only team in the MLB now to never sniff a World Series.., I think Dipoto overall has done a good job, but if the ownership won’t let him spend we’re gonna keep bringing in average players… M’s had a legit shot to get over the hump this year and they went cheap…

If ownership won’t really let him spend then I think he needs to grow a pair and resign. But that is also why I don’t think it is just Stanton that doesn’t want to spend, I don’t think Jerry really wants to spend either. I still firmly believe he would rather trade than get a FA. Which in a way we are lucky cause the most of the FA he allegedly went hard after haven’t lived up to their contracts. But damn it would be so much nicer to have a big contract guy now as opposed to 2026 and 2027 when they won’t have any money to spend if the resign their own guys.
