Getting rid of Goff was mandatory.... Stafford is a FAR superior QB. It was going to cost the fuck out of LA to shed Jared Goof and every team knew it otherwise you're just delaying the inevitable. Seattle believed a safety similar to Kam was needed for their defense and yah, I agree it was and it showed once Adams got healthy, but this is QB we're talking at this point. Goff is NOT Russell Wilson and I think a number of Rams fans will agree. Adams also is STILL very cheap cap wise.

The problem is, Seattle had no ties with a prior safety. The Rams ownership (who is stupid IMO) were morons to sign Goff to some dumbass contract, so you have to play ball with organizations that are going to take on that risk. Well there's not a lot of organizations available that are going to say, "Well fuck it... we're not gonna do anything for the next couple years anyway so we'll just suck." And hence they have the trump card.

Lions made this trade knowing they are basically doing fuck all until Rodgers leaves (2+ years). Rams made this move knowing they are basically NOT doing fuck all with Goff behind center.

How can you say Stafford is significantly better than Goff when you look at their careers and in 4 full years as a starter, Goff has had 10 times the success that Stafford has had in 9 full years as a starter.

Goff took the Rams to a Super Bowl. Goff has won the Rams 2 division titles and 3 playoff games. Stafford has brought Detroit 0 division titles, 0 playoff wins. Stafford is a stud fantasy QB at best.
