Not looking good today. Down 4-0 in the 7th.
Then tomorrow starts a 4 game series with Pitt. That'll be 17 days in a row they have played.

All teams experience both hot streaks and cold streaks and I hope our cold streak will be over soon. Our starting pitching has really been letting us down lately while at the same time our bats have gone silent too. I know Cardinals management doesn't want to rush C. Martinez and Reyes back to the mound but I sure hope we will get them back soon.

I hope they have to play 60 games in 30 days at some point!

17 runs without a home run is pretty crazy. 6 doubles doesn't feel like that many (on 16 hits) and no stolen bases. Going 11-25 with RISP will help.

Carpenter and Ozuna were looking to walk and the Pirates pitchers seemed to be pitching around them. Then when guys were getting on base the Pirates pitchers were hanging stuff in the strike zone for guys like Molina who look to make contact. It seemed like both teams were actively trying to get the Cardinals to score.

I think we should have saved a couple of those 17 runs we scored Thursday for Friday. Those one run loses hurt but that's baseball sometimes.

Our pitching depth is challenged right now, half our bullpen is good/great the other half suck big time.
