this is kinda crazy:

Jordan Zirm‏Verified account @clevezirm 9m9 minutes ago
man. Ryen Russilo on ESPN Radio this morning saying four teams “failed” MPJ and one team picking in the 20s said they wouldn’t touch him had he been there. yikes.
14 Teams failed him

FOURTEEN!

Again: I wanted the Clippers to take him 13th.

But, I understand why they didn't now.

You can't start the post Blake injury era with a guy that will get medically redshirted.

Yeah, we are having at least 8 different arguments/conversations simultaneously...lol

1. Where will Bron go...

2. Where will George go....

3. Has Kawhi opened his mouth for more than food...

4. How long will it take the Cavs to recover...

5. Are the Sixers really in the mix...

6. Trading Randle...

7. CP-knee and his max deal

8. Maxing washed dudes * side eyes Shane *

Shit can get confusing.....lol

1. to the hair club for men
2. he'll be in L.A. next year, but a Clippers uniform
3. yes, when he was asking AAA for directions outta the state of Texas
4. the Browns will win the S.B. before they recover
5. I sure as hell hope not
6. don't give enough shits to care where he ends up
7. he's stealing money
8. so you're saying Dwight Howard isn't a max player?

i almost kinda thought since the Clips had 2 picks they might take a gamble on him.

Can you give me what scenario the Cavs can do to pull off a blockbuster?
I'm not sure what the value of Love is, or Sexton.
Who else or what else would anyone want that the Cavs posess?

I agree Khawi is an unknown, but you don't think James and George, CP3 and other FA's haven't talked?

You haven't heard? Love can pull another superstar and the same with Sexton and JR Smith.....LOL.

Then he won't be a Laker.

Non-elite RFAs almost always get overpaid. It is a fact of life in the NBA.

That's fine. I'm a Randle fanboy, but I'd rather lose him than overpay him.

I think he deserves a super max deal. This way those looney tunes in LA LA Land won't have enough cheddah to sign 2 big-time FA's.

No.

He's going to the Lakers with or without them.

It's probably time for people to wrap their minds around this fact.

I am personally disgusted. But, being disgusted and being in denial are two very different things....lol

Brian Windhorst: “Right now, I’m 51 percent LeBron to [the Lakers], regardless of Paul George or Kawhi Leonard… if I was percentage-wise, I would say 51 percent [to] L.A., 40 percent [to stay in] Cleveland and 9 percent [to] Philadelphia. That’s where I’m at right now.”

–via ESPN

That would be great, as it would allow the Lakers to wait for the Kawhi situation to play out and not worry about George (although I think Lebron coming likely triggers George's decision). Next issue would be figuring out Deng/Randle.

Seems like a good decision at the moment when he's making $12M per, but can you build enough around him to be a contender when he's making max money next summer? I don't think he's that guy. However, with them drafting SG-A only to trade him, that should make it pretty obvious that they want to keep Kemba. Still, they REALLY need a backup PG.

How much they sign him for doesn't matter (except for luxury tax), as they have his Bird rights and can go over the cap to re-sign him. The issue is whether they can retain those rights to even have a chance to sign him, as they may have to renounce him to clear enough cap for the 2 max deals (unless they can move that Deng contract). Randle's payday will come after the 2 max deals (if they happen).

All they have to do is match an offer. It all depends on what gets offered by another team that he would sign an offer sheet with.

I really think right now he is torn. I think there is a better chance the Lakers get ONE of Kawhi, George or CP3 then the Cavs get Kemba.

There's a better chance the Lakers trade Deng for Kawhi straight up than the cavs getting Kemba

That is my point.

The other team making the offer knows if they don't overpay somewhat drastically, the Lakers will match.

That is why good, not great RFAs almost always get drastically overpaid. Because the Lakers will have to match a team who will likely make a proposterous offer.

He's going to get overpaid so the Lakers won't match

That's what I'm thinking. Even if they don't, if Lebron drags out his decision like he usually does, they may have to renounce Randle before he signs an offer sheet.

Doesn't sound like Mitch wants to trade Kemba.

I can see where Kemba would b e a tough decision.

He's not really good enough to be a guy you build around.

But he is good enough to be an important piece on a winning team.

Yup. If you let quality players hit the market as RFAs you are going to drastically overpay for them.
