The Mets are targeting next Friday (June 14) for Zack Wheeler's MLB debut, according to Adam Rubin of ESPNNewYork.com. Wheeler is scheduled to make what is likely to be his final Triple-A start tonight against Tacoma. The date isn't set in stone, Rubin notes, but is a tentative goal.

I am fired up to see him. He's been talked about nonstop for 2 years now. If he's half as good as they're saying the Mets should be watchable 2 days out of the week now instead of just 1.

I think health is the bigger concern. They were both top tier prospects with great stuff. It's less about teams figuring them out and more about not becoming Mark Prior/Kerry Wood 2.0.

He's still wasting a lot of pitches, needs to lock down his control on that slider/cutter he throws. I think that will come with experience.
