I get that people hate White more than probably anyone else on this team, and it's because he has essentially zero offensive ability. However, I do believe he's invaluable on the PK, because he and Volchenkov are really the only players we have on the PP capable of clearing the front of the net on the PK. When he was hurt two seasons ago we allowed something like twice as many PPGs while he was out.

White has carried the load on d quite a more than some people give him credit for.he may not score goals but he is a high quality shut down dman.he has more than earned my respect and I think there are several dmen I would rather see go than white.imo he should retire a devil.

Don't forget that he has the highest quality of competition of any defender on this team, and I wouldn't be surprised if he has the most defensive zone starts and fewest offensive zone starts, but I don't know that off the top of my head and I'm too tired to look at numbers right now.
