For me, it was the '84 Gator Bowl. I know I probably watched an earlier one, but this is the first one I recall.

For me it was the 96 game against USC. I'm sure I watched games prior to that for that year and prior seasons, but I can't recollect any of them. Also, I don't remember much of the 97 season, outside of the bowl game against LSU. After that, I have a distinct memory of mostly everything following that 97 season.

2004 #7 Texas at Arkansas. Arkansas had beaten Texas 38-28 in Austin the year before. Longhorns are up 22-20 late in the 4th led by Vince Young and Cedric Benson and Arkansas is driving to take the lead...Matt Jones fumbles, Texas recovers and goes on to win by two.

Remember that being the first game I got upset about losing. Started watching nearly every game growing up after that.

The first one I recall clearly is Alabama vs Penn State in 1989.

I think it was 1969 or 1970 - big QB dual between Archie Manning of Ole Miss & Terry Davis (I think) of Alabama.

Just the post above

Well, that's because I know exactly when mine was, & there's no way it can be bullshit, fucker.

As for you, all you said was "1980-something." Couldn't even tell the year, opponent, nothing. Now that...........is BULLSHIT!

First one I can recall in vivid detail...

1991 Orange Bowl

Notre Dame (9-2) vs Colorado (10-1-1)

Score was 10-9 Colorado with like 50 seconds left. The Irish had just held them to a 3 and out. Colorado punted and The Rocket returned it for the Irish 90+ yards for the potential game winning TD. But hold up, some asshole ref decided to throw a flag for clipping that brought it back. Colorado would go on to win 10-9 and claim a share of the national championship.

The ref would later tell SI that he shouldn't have thrown the clipping flag as he wasn't in the best position to see it.

I have no idea.

I remember the first game I watched FSU play in person.

1961 vs George Washington

The first TV game I remember of any game was the 1955 Gator
Bowl between Pitt and Ga Tech. There were a few before that
but I remember that game. My Aunt was baby-sitting me at
her home.

My first ever in person game, was 1956...Colgate @ Syracuse.
(Jim Brown scored 40 or more points in that game)
