No he won’t. And if he is, it won’t be because of his ability. He may stick around like Chad Henne or Blaine Gabbert.

Guess what? Henne and Gabbert suck. They didn’t have NFL talent, which is why they were career backups. No NFL coach is gonna make a starter out of guys like Stidham because guys like Stidham don’t have NFL talent. And a coach isn’t gonna risk his job starting a QB with a sub-80 QB rating.

Lynch was out of the league within a couple years because he had neither talent nor the smarts to be trusted as a backup. Time will tell if Stidham sticks around much longer, but talent wise he’s absolutely the same QB as Paxton Lynch.

Stidham is far and away better than either of those 2....

Sorry, but I can't take someone serious who says Stidham shouldn't be in the NFL... I understand if you say he shouldn't be a starter but as a backup? Do you even pay attention to the QB position in the NFL???? We have guys like Trevor Siemian, Nathan Peterman and Matt Barkley still bouncing around this league. Tommy DeVito a cruddy college QB started like 9 games this year. Yes, Stidham is an NFL QB. Get a clue!

The problem with this discussion is you make dumb comment like Stidham should be in the XFL. He isn't an NFL QB. He sucks, blah blah blah. Then when people call you on it you claim people are in "LOVE" with Stidham as a QB. Nobody is saying Stidham is a "GREAT" QB like you make it out to be. People are saying Stidham is what he is which is a quality backup QB. Nobody LOVES him. Nobody is calling for him to start. He is a backup QB. He is an NFL caliber backup QB. He doesn't belong in the XFL. He isn't horrible. You're too extreme when analyzing Stidham. When people call you our for the nonsense comments you become dramatic and make it out that people think he is some pro bowl caliber QB and the is simply not the case. It's pretty simple. Compared to most backup QB's in the NFL Stidham is worthy of roster spot as a backup QB. Are there backups better then him? Sure, I can name a few. Is Stidham below average for a backup and his skill level is of an XFL QB? Uhhhh no. This is really pretty simple and the fact that we keep coming back to it because you keep making off the wall comments about Stidham is a little puzzling. As far as DeVito being better then him I assume you're joking as a matter of fact I think you might be joking about Stidham in general and just trying to ruffle feathers to cause drama in this forum. Anyone who watches football knows DeVito is not a better backup QB then Stidham. No offense can move the ball with DeVito, you can't push the ball down the field. You will ride and die a bit more with Stidham and that is probably his biggest downfall. He is going to turn the ball over but you may get a 300 yard passing game from him from time to time. DeVito had one game where he passed for over 200 yards out of 9 starts and that was against the worst pass defense in the NFL. Guy got 9 starts and threw 8 touchdowns and 3 of those were in one game vs the worst pass defense in the NFL. Where DeVito is good is he doesn't turn the ball over (although he did in college) but he didn't for the Giants. They are two ways different QB's with one you can push the ball down the field but you risk a bit more with the other you can't move the ball but he isn't likely to lose the game for you but you aren't going to win because of him. DeVito is very limited, the playbook is very small with DeVito under center. You can't use your speed outside with Hyatt and Wan'Dale Robinson with a QB like DeVito. Put it this way. DeVito was so unproductive that the Giants started a QB the last two weeks who was basically playing on one leg and should have really spent the last two weeks on IR and with that being said they lost to the Rams by 1 point and beat the Eagles in those two games. Let's get serious here and lets be realistic here. This Stidham sucks and shouldn't be in the NFL is not a conversation anyone in this forum needs to waste their time with. That is all anyone is saying. Stidham as a backup QB in the NFL is about as good as you can expect nowadays. It is already hard to find a good starting QB and we are seriously complaining about Stidham as our backup? Waste of our time.
