That he is astronomically cheaper does not even remotely put him within the same stratosphere as Russ in terms of ability.

Jarrett Stidham is not an NFL QB.

No. That Russ isn’t worth his contract doesn’t make Stidham good. He’s one of the worst QBs in football. And that offends me more than Russ underperforming.

It's just hitting me that the season is over .. I know there is a lot going on in the offseason, but not having Bronco football on Sunday is awful

Having an 8-9 record doesn't really bother me, since we all knew the playoffs were gone. Losing to the Raiders 8 times in a row is much more troubling. We're talking about the Raiders. C'mon! What's with the Broncos and bad streaks against division opponents? We need to sweep the Raiders next year.

Being at this game I have to say that the Broncos energy was garbage. They didn't show up wanting to play other than surprisingly Jeudy. Sloppy game. It was odd to see Russ on the field warming up. It was just odd the way that situation was handled and I don't think it sat well with the players which was reflective of their effort. Stidham is not good, he was just never on target. If he is our starting QB next year our future is pretty dismal. Our roster just isn't very good across the board. I think we have two difference makers on the roster in PS2 and Simmons but otherwise we just have guys. We need an impact ILB, impact DL, impact Edge, RB, WR etc.... Sure we have ok players like Sutton but he is really a high end #2 not a #1. The OL is ok at best and certainly won't help a rookie QB. I think we are a long ways from contending and don't have a good path to getting there.

Maybe not a starter, but a solid backup to have for sure.

There is a reason Lynch is out of the League and Stidham is still in the League.

And when guys like Zach Wilson, Di Nucci, Lock, Jimmy G (LOL), Hoyer, and others are in the League there is a spot for Stidham.

There are a lot of guys that stuck around forever but weren’t trusted to start. Doesn’t mean they were NFL quality talent. They just happened to be smart on the white board. Lot of those guys got into coaching.

Broncos current QB coach is a prime example…

No he won’t. And if he is, it won’t be because of his ability. He may stick around like Chad Henne or Blaine Gabbert.

Guess what? Henne and Gabbert suck. They didn’t have NFL talent, which is why they were career backups. No NFL coach is gonna make a starter out of guys like Stidham because guys like Stidham don’t have NFL talent. And a coach isn’t gonna risk his job starting a QB with a sub-80 QB rating.

Lynch was out of the league within a couple years because he had neither talent nor the smarts to be trusted as a backup. Time will tell if Stidham sticks around much longer, but talent wise he’s absolutely the same QB as Paxton Lynch.
