This is awful. I hope it's not true. I really truly do.

You and me both. I've had my fair share of criticisms of Wash over the years, but I would be furious if he did that to a woman, not to mention the Rangers after they stood by him and gave him a 2nd chance. Plus I would hate to think Wash would do such a thing and cause such pain to so many people. What a mess.

His lawyers were at the press conference, so I bet they advised him to step down ASAP.

The girl who reported (tweeted) the story is sticking to it. No other major media outlet is jumping on it because there isn't any concrete documentation out there yet. If this is indeed the case, it'll get out there at some point and become public knowledge. I've heard rumors of affair or legal issues, but she is the only one saying sexual assault.

Really sucks. Wash was one of the most beloved managers of any franchise in DFW history. Disappointing if he did this and really ruins his image.

Again we know that this seems to be likely the reason why he stepped down. The question is now is that right now it's just allegations. Unfortunately even if something like this gets fabricated it can just ruin a persons life/career due to that risk and perception. Like everyone else I sincerely hope like hell that these are completely fabricated allegations.

I think our image is fine. Most rational people and especially within the baseball community know what the team went through this year injury wise. I truly believe this team will be better next year if everyone is healthy. Not saying they'll be a contender since there's no telling but this team won't be anywhere near as bad as this season IMO.

And I have a sneaking suspicion that will be the next trophy we all see raised in the DFW Metroplex. That's fine by me because it's the coolest trophy in all of sports (although I want the Rangers to win it all the most of our 4 teams due to them never having won it and the 3 other 3 having won). I like the Cowboys, love the Mavs, but I truly live and breathe Stars and Rangers.

No joke. My weekends became pretty empty before the start of the football season this year.

Mavs might not be too bad this year and I think the Stars are primed for a nice run. At least their seasons begin soon.

Francona must be some kind of manager. I think he did a great job in Boston and what he has done in Cleveland to me is miraculous. Too bad he is not available.
