I think unless Leal really came out this spring and lit it up/outshined everyone it would be an uphill battle for him to win the starting job, that's just IMO. There is still the summer session so its not over yet. But if there is a push between he and anyone else, a one and done starter at that position is not in the best interest of this program going forward. Its not really fair to Leal, but that is juts how it goes. I don't think he will even be the 2nd or 3rd best option once everyone gets on campus and all is said and done.

In other news... it looks like the RB and LB positions are looking better than we thought. M. Williams and most of the new LBs are looking pretty damned good from what I hear. Undersized but FAST..fast..fast

Any word on RVD and how is recovery is going?!? I know he was looking to be a factor last year before the injury. But i havent heard anything about him or a return for this season. I thought he may be able to help in the LB situation?!?

Had to sit out the spring still recovering but is expected to start in the fall. Sat in on some ILB meetings this spring so he can play there as well if needed.

Brewer is small....hope he has a fast release, because he certainly won't be able to take the pounding LT took.

Marshawn Williams and Trey Edmunds should be a good 1-2 punch.

Disappointed some guys like Sam Rogers, Marshall, Dadi haven't added more weight.

Did they measure Wang's height with cleats on?

I've read elsewhere that the old player's heights/weights are not updated yet. :noidea:

That is correct. They will be measured in August in the beginning of camp.

wow, Reid has gained 40 pounds! Up to 229 from the 190 the recruiting services had him listed at when he committed. Fisher has slimmed down about 15.

I am getting excited! Not at all confident in Knowles making a difference.

Knowles has had plenty of opportunities to be a difference maker and more often than not has came up a little short. If he drops down to 3rd team then it's his fault.

Sounds like the receiving corp (Stanford, Byrn, Fird, Philips, Malleck, Hodges, and Kline) will be a strength this year. :yahoo:

3rd team? Let's not get ahead of ourselves. He's still listed at first team, right? That would be quite a drop. Past is past. Let's see how he steps up this year.

Don't know who is listed where?? But I believe Stanford and Byrn are 1st team and sounds like Ford is pushing Stanford for 1st team reps and Phillips has impressed a lot too. That's straight from what the coaches have said.

I haven't heard squat about Knowles... So yeah, I see his playing time greatly diminishing this year. We have to put our best players on the field, and he doesn't seem to be one of them. He is a straight up burner. Doesn't run good routes and his hands aren't as good as they should be. He was (and still is??) raw and a project when he came here.

Check that... Knowles is listed as 1st team on hokiesports over Byrn. He shouldn't be. That's garbage...

That is unless he has shown major improvement and Byrn has regressed, which I doubt is the case...
