UW Class of 2014 Recruiting Thread

April is when most spring CFB practices occur. Unfortunately the huskies have already announced their won't be public access to any of them. But the press will cover most of it so we should firm up whose looking like starters for fall.

I know April I was just curious if coach mentioned an actually start date, the no public access is fine, I personally like when a coach holds his cards close, don't need people snooping around....

He did have interest in BSU or at least a relationship with their recruiters who are all now at UW. Hard for any of us to have a feel for any of this as Petersen and his crew are very quiet about these things. There have been a few surprises going in every direction with all of the changes to the conference. Won't know for sure, but I'd expect that we aren't done with the flips and surprises. Just not sure which ones.

ATH / TE Chase Blakley (Coeur D Alene, ID) has announced he's decommitting from Washington and commited to BSU.

This one is a bit of a headscratcher. He was one of the better TE recruits out of the west this year and had been committed to us since last summer.

ATH / TE Chase Blakley (Coeur D Alene, ID) has announced he's decommitting from Washington and commited to BSU.

This one is a bit of a headscratcher. He was one of the better TE recruits out of the west this year and had been committed to us since last summer.

And he is staying home. That happens.

Reports coming in that 3-star SDE Jaylen Johnson committed to Washington on Tuesday night. Great addition to the Dline beef. Had interest from many PAC schools and ND.

Timing was weird, but if he wants to stay close to home, so be it.


But I've noticed that we have another visitor coming this weekend which is a bit of a surprise.

4-star Arizona commit CB Naijiel Hale. He's one of their top recruits and commited to Zona last summer. Interesting......

Does look like Malik Dorton has officially cancelled his visit to Washington this weekend as he appears to be firm on USC, but considering we now have two great looking SDE's in the class, that's all she wrote for that need with this class anyway.

The numbers put up and how effectively Jace Amero worked as a hybrid TE/WR could be driving this. Petersen obviously noticed.

So we get a new preferred walk-on with ties to Baker and one of our new commits and Oregon was trying to get him as well.

Nice get for the Oline. Gotta keep the UW / Bellevue HS pipeline at full strength for years to come and keep Mora out.
