Mike Barber is saying that he's heard that Chuck Long's name is one of interest for the OC position. OC coach at OK under Bob Stoops back in 2003 and averaged 51.5ppg

If this situation doesn't have a satisfactory resolution, Beamer is dead to me. And so is Weaver. I've been defending Beamer, saying he should leave on his own terms, but that would be the breaking point. This would prove that either he is ridiculously selfish, delusional, or both.

That would be a worse hire than O'Cain

Would not be going to Atlanta if Long is hired.....would also be firmly on the "get the hell out of dodge Frank" train.

I think we can do better than Pep, I'm not that upset to not get him, would rather have someone that is actually calling the plays come in. I also don't mind us waiting til after NSD to find the new, right OC

Ugh, this just keeps going on and on. I don't see what the major holdup is. VT is a marquee program. We should be able to screen the candidates, interview a group of top prospects, select a couple that we like, and get one to agree. That s**t shouldn't take two weeks to get done. And it's not like it is surprise that changes were needed. This train wreck of an offense took a long time before finally derailing in the bowl game. But it was obvious to everyone that changes needed to be made. So Beamer and Weaver were on the clock far before the end of the bowl game.

So how is this good again? CL stats of teams where he had a hand in the offense. It's almost like looking up VT's TL Offense over the last decade or so..

To be clear on those stats too, 2004 was when Jason White won the Heisman, and OK had Adrian Peterson.

How the FUCK is this considered an improvement? :L

I posted these numbers over on TSL. Those delusional people think anyone not named Stinespring is an upgrade. Let's just say his resume doesnt wow me...

So is this VT looking for an OC or fuckin JMU? Because I can't tell the difference. Maybe Beamer decided to devote the last few years of his career to furthering the development of his 2nd son Stinespring and since he can't turn him into a good OC he's going to pick the worst one he can find so even Stinespring will look good

God, we need to be more patient than making this such a desperation hire that we would pick this guy. I don't agree with picking someone that mostly caters to LT, he wasn't that great this past year, we shouldn't sink the offense for the foreseeable future picking someone that might develop him for a higher draft spot.

I hope LT leaves early so everyone can see how stupid the coaches were for not putting Leal in last year. The staff's infatuation with LT amazes me. Then again it doesn't because it's what they do...screw ups

Just chiming into say the Chuck Long candidacy is beyond stupid and I just shake my head at Beamer for even considering it.
