VJ today said that Max Garcia's work on both the right and left side had been good this camp. Also mentioned his snaps at center but said they're just building on his versatility. Sounds like he's staying as a depth player, which I also agree with. He has starting experience over the last couple of years and I think that definitely has some value.

However and having said all that, they can't keep everyone!

Having a guy like Garcia as a backup with starting experience and ability to play all over the OL is a huge luxury in the NFL.

We do need a C/G, a G/T, and a swing T for backups. Maybe one more guy if looks really promising for a total of nine.

Watson had zero competitive spirit and just took Denver's money. Not mad at him as teams have dome much worst cut throat things to players.

From what I heard Watson was a great teammate and hard worker. Just can’t stay healthy and when he is he’s more of a depth guy then a starter. Can’t fault him for over paying him. He worked hard after his contract that was never an issue. Just a bad offer by us.

It was a panic move to try to fix the strainer that was our offensive line.

It really was, as there wasn't much out there at the time.

So after the preseason how does everyone feel about Vance Joseph?

It seemed the team improved as we moved through so I think it gives a little hope that he is improving as he goes forward. It also seems like Vance is more even keeled then last year. I think there are signs that he has improved, but the true test will start on 9/9.

I think the coaching as improved over all. As with all coaches - VJ has to show us - he can make the players play for him and execute. The great teams can play with emotion and execute their assignments well. It is very difficult to fuse emotion with the clear headedness needed for a crisp execution of the play book. Great coaches can do that.

We all remember Mike Shanahan's coaching arc - toward the end of his Broncos tenure - he couldn't motivate the players anymore - they weren't scared of him and they played like it.

I really hope VJ shows the stuff. I think this coaching staff is more his than it is Elway's this year - and that is a good sign. VJ has leaders on the field in Keenum and Miller (actually a number of guys on D can be mentioned here) and that is a very good sign. A new blood stream and change of culture permeates the team this year - I would argue that is good as well.
