Thomas isn't the receiver he was a few years ago. He still brings the size, but his quickness and explosiveness are not what they once were. It's a bit like Dez Bryant who's still out there free of compensation.

seems like most are saying he'd fetch a comp pick if not resigned, so that makes the 3rd rounder more palatable.

What I think Tate brings is that (from what I remember always when I see him play) is the ability to get those tough catches

It's basically a 3rd for Tate and a 4th ... because that's likely what we will get back in compensation if we don't re-sign him. It's a half year rental and an upgrade if we make the post season.

It's a steep for sure, but let's look what Tate brings to the table. If I'm not mistaken, he is amongst the top for leading to miss tackles, his yac is without a doubt is off the charts. I also believe he has great numbers vs the cowpokes back in week four I believe. I would be happier if we had traded for a stud OL to protect Wentz. Peter's is old and injury prone and Lane is out for a month.
