Where did all this production come from?

Last 8 games: 3 goals, 4 assists

That is awesome considering he was a waste of oxygen not too long ago. Glad you decided to play some hockey Torrey! That line is eating up the opposition lower pairings.

A goal against VAN will be one of the top 20 goals in Sharks history.

I agree, but it's nice that Torrey now has two career highlights instead of one!

+1

Even a pessimist extraordinaire like me can see how that adds up to +100% improvement yo!

agreed. Them catastrophic leg injuries is no fun...

Mitchell's little run really puts an interesting twist on both the PO's and next year. For this year, if the WIMP (wellwood-mitch-pavs) line continues to produce, then it gives the sharks 3 very ligit scoring lines, something that perhaps they have never had, even last year when manny was the 3rd line C. It would add a depth of scoring that if it continues in the PO's would at least partially make up for the complete lack of scoring from the D.

Also, next year, mitch is in his final year costing nearly 1.4M. That seemed like a rediculous overpay for a borderline Non-NHLer and everyone including myself was clamoring to toss him out and save the money to use elsewhere like upgrading the D. BUT, if he plays like this for the rest of the year, makes a nice combo with pavs, and actually helps, then 1.4 isnt all that steep for a top 9 forward. Either way its good, becasue now he will surely have some actual trade value on the market is dougie wants to use his salary elsewhere or keeping him doesnt look nearly as useless.

Either way, it's nice to see him actually return to respectability.

Last 9 games:

5 goals, 4 assists.

There's something to be said about crashing the net with speed instead of size. That first goal against CGY was a prime example. It was like a 2 (Mayers) on 4 and Mitchell was great on that shift tipping in the centering pass.
