I think he'll probably go tv even though he prefers radio because of whats gonna happen in the future with the radio rights and he wouldnt want to be left out in the cold

rogers is completely locked in with the canucks ... it has arena naming rights, tv rights, and when the radio rights come up, we are most likely gonna see Rogers start am sports radio station #2 in Vancouver (#3 if you count team1410)

SCENE & HEARD: The drums continue to beat in our local radio jungle and while nothing concrete has hit the streets, there's sufficient speculation in the back alleys to warrant a look.

Team 1040, now under the corporate umbrella of Bell Media Radio, has one year remaining as rights holders of Canucks' radio broadcasts.

Having the Canucks' play-byplay as a Bell property clearly doesn't sit well with Rogers Communications, owners of radio stations across Canada, including the Vancouver cluster of News 1130, 96.9 Jack-FM and 104.9 Fun-FM.

In July, 2010, when Rogers signed a 10-year deal to purchase the naming and wireless rights to what we knew as GM Place, it seems reasonable to suggest that the Canucks' radio broadcasts came up in the conversation.

So while the company line from Bell Radio remains that renewal negotiations with the Canucks are "progressing", Rogers continues to look at its options that some say could result in the creation of another all-sports radio station in Vancouver. That would make a total of three, including Team 1410.

Scott Moore, who oversees Rogers Media television (Citytv, Sportsnet and Omni) as well as all Rogers radio properties, was in Vancouver Monday for a series of closed-door meetings. One of those sessions was with Don Taylor, the popular Sportsnet Pacific television anchor who appears daily with Dave Pratt on Team 1040. With Pratt driving the bus, it's the station's crown jewel. And here's where the plot thickens. TSN is also part of the Bell Media corporate conglomerate and in recent months has been acquiring radio network rights in direct competition with Rogers.

Which leads to the question: How long does Rogers allow one of its valued Sportsnet personalities (Taylor) to appear on a TSNrelated radio station? And with Pratt's contract expiring with Team 1040 on Aug. 31, how long will it take for his lawyer/agent Ron Perrick to jump all over the possibility of a third sports station in the Vancouver market?

The drums beat louder by the minute.

contract dispute ... he wanted Bobcat/Mike Richards money (half a shmill a year) ... team was offering $150,000 (i should add ... he's telling everyone who will listen its his agents fault ... Ron Perrick)

rumour that Pratt will re-surface on sportsnet with a landsberg type show ... maybe

until then, no more steak and a shot nights at Fortes for Dave ... and Ursulla has left him lol
