The Season So Far-week –Week 9

1st 4: Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame, LSU

2nd 4: Michigan, Oklahoma, Georgia, Ohio State

3rd 4: Washington St, West Virginia, Kentucky, UCF

Analysis: Not much change from last week. Alabama and LSU in the game of the year so far. Alabama and Clemson seem to have separated themselves from the pack. Going into this week, only UCF is not a playoff contender due to schedule.

Playoff Teams: Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame, Oklahoma.

Analysis: The whole picture would change if LSU upsets Alabama. The SEC would likely get 2 teams in the playoffs if that happened. Big 10 and Big 12 would be shut out. The PAC has the least chance and Washington State must win out and hope for help.

Most surprising: LSU, Washington St and Kentucky

Analysis: All still have a shot at the playoffs, but the odds are against all 3. LSU and Kentucky have their shots this weekend to stand a chance.

Most disappointing: Nebraska, Florida State, TCU, and Tennessee

Analysis: Nebraska has only 1 win over an FBS team. Florida State looked horrible last weekend against Clemson. TCU has almost totally collapsed, and Tennessee continues its recent decline.

Heisman Trophy: Tua Tagovailoa, , Kyler Murray, Dwayne Haskins.

Analysis: No new contenders are stepping up, so unless something drastic happens, one of these 3 will win. If Alabama wins out it should be Tua taking the trophy. Haskins numbers have been off the charts, and Murray needs to lead Oklahoma to the Big 12 Championship.

Big 3 Games of the Week: Alabama-LSU, Georgia-Kentucky, Michigan-Penn State

Analysis: LSU must win to stand a chance to make the playoffs. Georgia still has a chance to be the 2nd SEC team, and so does Kentucky. A Michigan loss would end any chance to make the playoffs. Picks: Alabama 31-19. Georgia 24-17, and Michigan 31-13

Big games in the regular season: Oklahoma-West Virginia, Michigan-Ohio State, Washington-Washington State.

Analysis: All 3 games have playoff implications. 2 of these teams could get in, but this weeks Alabama-LSU will help determine if the SEC can get 2 teams in the mix. Washington State is the longest shot, but upsets could create a chance. Oklahoma still in the picture, but must get past a tough West Virginia team at West Virginia.
