It’s dumb. Mazara runs well enough and now you’ve replaced one of your only potent bats with a black hole.

He hustled but did look back a second. Tocci has more speed that is the issue. All of this is on why we are tagging to go to second

I understand that, but an inning or two before this one we had a reliever out there for the angels who threw 20 pitches and only 2 of them were in the strike zone. Somehow none of our hitters drew a walk or did anything productive. I just don’t like the approach and the lack of discipline.

I think we still lead the league in unearned runs given up. Which makes me think our team has a bunch of guys who are undisciplined at the plate and can’t adequately field their positions. I’d place a bunch of the blame at the foot of the coaches who are supposed to teach in those areas.

That's the only way to slide. I hate the feet first slide on plays like that. It delays getting to the plate/bag and the front foot pops up for some reason for many players. So Odor did the right thing there if you want the quickest route to the plate.
