Yup.. Losing Cobb hurt more than losing Suh imo.. Cooper is like a Vet which is a good thing..

However, he's going to be a rookie in the NFL and I'd prefer we pair Carr with a veteran #1 WR to escalate his development.

I agree big time.. Cooper would be good to break in slowly, then let him beast!! A good Vet WR in FA would be a score..

So, Suh has a deal in place with Fins, that would pay him franchise QB money eh?? Crazy money..
Yeah, it's going to get even crazier with Houston I think. Sober reality for me, but I don't think you'll find three more impactful players on D than Suh, Houston, and Watt right now.

Damn, we're going to miss out on both premier DT's? Are there any DT's in college the Raiders might be looking at with our first round pick? Not sure of all the players available in college. Not a mock draft guru and DT is one of the positions we have to try and upgrade.

Haven't seen anything quite like him in a Chiefs uniform. Not as a good a rusher as DT was- now that was a monster speed rusher if there ever was one. Houston is lightyears ahead of DT at the same age when it comes to setting the edge and coverage, however. I'll be very, very, very upset with the FO if he isn't a Chief for a very long time.

Derrick Thomas was the Chief player I respected the most as a Raider fan.

A fucking beast.

DT was one of those once in a lifetime type players.. Those don't come around to often.. But Houston is right there!! I never talked about trying to get Houston, cuz there would be noway you guys would let him walk..

It will depend on how the draft plays out but the top rated player in the draft is a DT in Leonard Williams. Most likely he is gone by the time the Raiders pick but hey crazier things have happened. Behind him there are some pretty good DT's but I wouldn't say they are top-5 worthy. Maybe look more in the 2nd round or if you can trade back kind of thing.

As for Knighton he was a pretty good player for the Broncos. He is one of the best run stopping DT's in the NFL and works very well in Del Rio's style of defense. He won't offer much as a pass rusher although he does have a decent first step at times. Probably the only real negative about Knighton is he really struggles with his weight. The last 2 training camps with the Broncos he showed up over 30 lbs. overweight and got fined heavily by the team. Not really what you want out of a guy that is supposed to be one of the leaders on the defense. He also because of the weight struggles to play significant snaps like you expect. For the Broncos this last year he only played on 48% of all defensive snaps. Compare that to a guy like Suh who plays on over 80% of the defensive snaps and also plays on a decent number of special teams snaps.

Again great player and one the Broncos will most likely miss but he is wanting in the $7.5-8.5 million range for this upcoming season. A little too rich for a guy that only plays part time in my opinion.
