Orpik and Niskanen were on teams that blew 3-1 series leads two years..... embarrassing.

I remember watching this game live and just remembered cheering Hextall on while chasing Chelios with a slashing stick, lol. Chelios back then, would be equivalent to a Claude Lemiux. He got under the skin of every opponent. I'm glad that Chelios was not injured as a result. Hextall was a freak and teams did not want to piss him off.
Btw, this was allegedly started by Brian Propp getting an elbow. God, I feel friggin old. It seems like yesterday when I watched it.

Hey Las.. Funny you brought up the Hextall and Chelios incident. Check out a YouTube clip when Hextall chases Rob Brown( Pens) back in the day.

I just watched pretty funny how Brown ran away. Makes me laugh about how much better it is to watch a game on TV these days.

Yup... Hexy was a tough dude. He was not shy to get in some dirty work. He was my 2nd favorite Flyer goaltender behind Pelle Lindbergh.

HockeyBuzz.com - Bill Meltzer - Meltzer's Musings: Hakstol, Mason, Lecavalier, Chief, Son of a Thief & More

Bill seems to think it's possible that after collecting his $2 million on July 1st, Vinny may want to mutually terminate his contract with the Flyers. He won't be making much money the last couple season the contract, and he'll be wallowing in misery between 4th line duty and the press box. Man if that happened, that would be very fortunate for the Flyers.

Vinny has been pretty open about not wanting to be in Philly any more. After the bonus there's not much incentive for him to keep the contract, it makes sense and COULD happen.

Could a termination actually happen under the CBA, though?

Yep. Teams and players have done that. I can't think of any at the moment, but most times it doesn't happen because there's money incentive for the player to keep the contract. In this case, Vinny could probably make as much as what's left on his contract, or more, on a new contract, and he'd get to play.

Clarkson wouldn't do that because he'd be leaving a ton of money on the table. His next contract would've been peanuts compared to what he'd make from his Leafs contract.

Google turned up Mueller for now.. Peter Mueller, St. Louis Blues mutually agree to terminate contract - NHL.com - News
