It would be nice to get into single-digits tonight!

Looking at the rest of our schedule, by winning tonight, and then taking two games in each of our remaining series against the Astros, Cubs, and Mets, we would only need to win one game out of all of our other series (Reds twice, Brewers, and Braves) in order to break the losing streak.

And one of those Cubs series and the Mets series are each four games.

Basically, we have to be pretty awful for the rest of the season to not break the streak. I think it's realistic to take at least an average of one game in each of our "tough" series, so I believe 84 wins is a pretty reasonable expectation for the final count, even if we do keep playing poorly.

Of course, a little winning streak would be nice... :pray2:

On the day of our 81st victory of the season, I may have to have a little party for myself. At the very least, I will raise a beer to the team who ended the streak.

Hope you have a great party. Personally, I'll wait till win 82 before celebrating. I recognize that an 81-81 season will break the losing streak, technically. However, in that event, I can see the media continuing to harp on a streak of "non-winning seasons," same as they did for Milwaukee a few years back. (In 2005, the Brewers went 81-81 after 12 consecutive losing seasons.) The only reason the media didn't harp on it more was that the Pirates had their own long losing streak going on at the time.

82 wins ends it conclusively. I don't drink beer..... but perhaps I'll take myself out for a good steak at 82 (along with the Mrs., of course).

85 - MGD
playoffs - Big Eddy Imperial IPA, unless I can find the Big Eddy Baltic Porter before then.

I have no way of acquiring any Iron City. I live in Wisconsin and work in Milwaukee.

The beer I raise will likely be found in a book of 500 beers a beer snob should try, since I'm on a mission to try them all.

I've got about 30 beers so far at Old Chicago. I just started early this summer, so I guess by the end of 2013 I should be up there myself. :cool2:
